Nas is one of the greatest lyricist to ever touch a mic but may also be one of the worst performers I've ever seen, I hope he stays the hell away from Verzuz
Same with Rakim, legendary on the mic but awful on stage IMO
Nas already said he is not going to take part in Verzuz. Maybe some of what you said Nas knows too, but I still think Nas Verzuz Jay-Z would tear the house down. Only thing is both men know there is more to lose doing a Verzuz against each other than winning.
Peace.
Though the OP might be a hip-hop fan, he is clearly a big Jay-Z fan. xxIronxx’s last comment sums up why someone like Busta is very difficult to beat in this format:
The people tuning in are not average mufuckas. They know both catalogs.
So to answer, “what’s would a DJ put on after PSA?”
1. Touch it
2. Fire it up (remix)
3. Put your hands where my eyes can see
4. Czar
Couple that with busta’s showmanship and that’s a problem to follow.
I’ve seen Jay live. I probably got hyped twice all concert and I fux with his music.
At a Busta Rhymes concert? That sh*t is black mosh-pit music. You gonna run up and down the aisles and find someone you don’t know and maybe fuck their clothes up, grabbing them to the lyrics. There is no category of rap where Busta isn’t equal or likely better than whoever, especially Jay-Z.
Just to start more shit here, could you imagine if Busta did a mic check by having the DJ play “Scenario” and he rapped his verse? Nothing could follow that.
Nothing.
Might be a hip hop fan lol. I do agree with some of what you are saying. My only thing with Busta is if he would be in lean mean Busta shape. It seems he got back into shape when he dropped his last album.
Yep. Was my only argument. Not saying he'd win. But for Jay to say can't nobody touch him is a lil crazy. Especially seeing he ain't willing to let us find out
Exactly there is rap ego, but let's be serious. There is a whole new generation of fans who would go for the likes of Drake, Lil' Wayne, and Future. The idea of Verzuz is to pit era against era, but Jay just opened up a can of worms saying this, but I totally get him bragging about his catalog because it is something that not many could compete with. The stage show would be interesting of seeing him against a younger rapper with today's audience.
Totally feel that. But anything I tell a nigga he can't see me in, I'm ready to show and prove that you can't. He go say that and then if he's called on it it'll be "I'm too big for vz. I'm too rich for that" or some other bullshit.
I find it hilarious that Jay Z says this now when DMX went out challenging him and he kept quiet lol. Now he's gone and he
Anybody under 35, will put Drake over Jay Z in a Versus.
Jay Z is an old nigga's folktale hero.
This is true.
Actually now that i think about, and Im surprised no one else has mentioned him in this thread; 50 cent could hold his own against Jay...
I wouldn't want to see Jay on the stage with anyone other than Nas. And I wouldn't want to see Nas on the stage with anyone other than Jay.
Everything else is unnecessary.
DMX was white hot....
J finally crossed over, but all he kept hearing was D M X
2 plat albums... 1 year
video shoot?
Fuck that nigga!
where Bleek & Beans at?
Everybody here is in their 30-50 and mostly black men. We are his demographic, so this isn’t a sign of mainstream relevance
Yes and no! If Jay-Z goes against his peers then the "relevancy" aspect won't matter, but he goes up against guys like Kanye, Lil' Wayne, and Drake it is a different story in terms of his relevance with that generation for '00's. Beyonce does keep him afloat with the women and different demo though.
Verzuz has turned into a huge cultural event after starting out as something to pass time during the first quarantine lockdown of the covid-19 virus. Since its inception, the event
