that passed with bi-partisan support when everyone was scared shitless.....you remember doing a decontamination process for your groceries (if you didn't want to wash that bag of potato chips it was advised to let it sit for 3 days then its okay to touch) and hunting for toilet paper..shit was crazy... after that by the end of the summer, the republicans were like fuck another robust stimulus.I'm talking about the trump stimmys that DID pass sir
Sounds like a YOU problem.I didnt get anything. Check your facts.
I didn't qualify IDIOT. Die pls.Sounds like a YOU problem.
I'm not playing into a stereotype. I'm just honest about our people. A lot of us are not fiscally responsible. A quick look at twitter, IG, tick tock, etc. People talking crazy about what they plan to spend the money on.
Hell, you see how people on this board are planning to spend the money. Not one mention of bills, food, rent, etc.
I said the previous stimulus...keep up dog. Income limit was higher and people got it regardless. Now kids don't get it if you make too much
It depends on who you follow. People I follow are discussing strategies for paying off bills, investing it, whether they should put it toward their mortgage, save it, or pay off debt. The budgetnista group I'm in on facebook is majority black women doing the same. Some have said they would treat themselves, few have said they would blow all of it to do so though.
People I work with are talking about car and house repairs, paying debts, saving it. No one has said they would blow it.
A lot of people will have no choice but to spend it on necessities. Not everyone is doing well. Hundreds of thousands are dead, which means funeral costs for all those people, hospital expenses for even more. Not to mention prescription costs and doctors bills for ongoing chronic conditions when many have lost healthcare. Bills don't stop coming once someone loses their job, and not everyone was able to get unemployment for various reasons.
Many households have lost one or more incomes due to job loss or covid deaths. Family members and friends have taken in kids where both parents have died. So they are grieving and struggling at the same time. Kids are home from school which means childcare costs or reduced work hours/quitting so the parents can do it, if older siblings aren't there. They now need to feed them all three meals plus snacks vs one or two meals during a normal school year. They've had costs incurred such as internet and computers for their kids to school at home of for them to work at home and kids don't stop growing because schools are closed, they will still need clothes and shoes.
Not to mention the strain, stress and worry of dealing with it all.
You have a lot to say about uplifting our community, and what we can and should do, but always seem to have a poor opinion of the people in it. If we are so careless, none of the noble ideas you appear to hold dear can come to fruition.
You sound like a Republican who says $1400.00 is too much, but in reality, for many, it's not enough. People were struggling before the pandemic and some are in worse shape now. You are implying black folks will be blowing this check, rather than using it to get relief from all of the situations I've outlined above. Thinking that parallels with the white thinking that black folks were better off in slavery because we can't take care of ourselves or our families and need to be locked up or in controlled situations today.
If y'all put these CACoons on Ignore BGOL would be a better place
I also dont personally know a single person who's talking about buying Js or rims with that money.
I never said or implied $1400 was to much. In fact, if you would have read the following post, I clearly said it was a good step in the right direction and that SOME people really do need it. In fact, I stated a number of items that I thought were positives from the stimulus bill, which included the $1400.It depends on who you follow.

Whats crazy is you have people who are down for socialism for certain shit but they aint really trying to give up their capitalist ways. In otherwords they talk that talk but they aint bout it, bout it.It's painful because they think socialism is more popular than it really is because they never get out of their little bubble.

My point about the $1400 was that Barkari incorrectly inferred that the $1400 was going to help lift people out of poverty. This is false and misleading. The $1400 check is a temporary aid that does not address the underlying issues of black folk. This is a fact and can not be debated.
Regarding who I follow, I try to be very diverse. I have a subset of friends who like me are not receiving and stimulus money. Which is ok, because we do want those who need it to get it. I have a subset that is receiving SM, but do not need it and state they will just save it or invest it. I have a subset that will use the money to pay down debt. I also have a subset that plan to make it rain and plan to blow it on whatever.
This latter group is more prevalent than most would like to admit. I literally just left my sons YMCA basketball game. The side conversations from the various parents regarding their SM did not include bills and repairs. Even in the barbershop, this isn't the consensus. I have been sure to always say some, beciae clearly, not all black folk will "buy tvs and Js." But, if we are being honest, we know a lot will.

AhhgginNiggas enjoy arguin' and can't help themselves. Whole thread fucked up. No new info or n'un. Just arguin'.![]()
It’s not really hypocrisy. It’s white supremacy. The world will make sense when you realize they don’t think you’re even human. They really believe this land was given to them by God. And this includes the white people that just moved here within the last decade.Pure insanity!
Cacs STAY showing their hypocrisy.
With them, it's all: "FREE SPEECH! FREE SPEECH! GOVERNMENT TYRANNY!!!!"
Until they get a chance to silence the oppressed.
None of these clowns are "mine" I don't play in this system. So why were the Dems negotiating with themselves and the bill we end up with is watered down with less money for these people who desperately need it?All the Dems voted for that shit.
I dont know if you noticed but the pandemic isnt over and people still need help today.
Your republicans all voted no. They dont have crumbs to spare apparently. At least not when they aren't the ones in power. But shit, cool if you think we would be better off.
I usually back the media well except for farts news Oh excuse me Fox News but I point the finger at them for not pointing this stuff out along time ago.
