While you generalized all that, liberal Maryland voted for a two-term Republican governor. I can honestly say he has been a descent Governor. He definitely got props from me, when he was the rare republican that would call out Trump's bullshit.
Yes, 6 months of $500 credits ($3000) will not put any kind of dent in generational poverty. This is a misleading statement that grossly ignores the underlying causes of generational poverty.
Oh okay.no one..he left it blank.. the thing is.. blank out or voting down ballot WAS done...just not by black people...blacks voted for hillary at 80%...white women blanked out on hillary electorally. Many didn't vote for her either because they didn't like her politics or her personally. In any case all that resulted was trump lost the popular vote but won it electorally and shit went sideways from then on... By 2020 gaude saw that trumps presidency was a train wreck but he was getting more popular and very well may get reelected...blank out wasn't an option then. So he did what we all did...hold his nose and vote for biden and figure it was better to fight it out that way... thats why both biden and trump got the most votes in history of voting in this country..81 mil for biden 74 mil for trump..everybody was pulling out the fucking stops this time...
this is what happens when you have to make real time decisions based on the choices in front of you. Thats what some people here don't get...
This tweet:
This is also false. They want our vote. We just won't even consider it.
For example:
And that one candidate refused to even talk to black media. LolYou realize I specifically wrote the following in the post you quoted:
Republicans dont want your vote. If they did they would have tried to get it. Not one here and one there, Team Republican would have tried to get it.
But you still went ahead and posted ONE candidate.
This is incorrect but it's a view that many have on poverty. People aren't in poverty because they choose to be. It's not something that can be eradicated with hard work and pulling themselves up by their bootstraps. Policy is the cause of policy. We never blame policy because it's not in our face. People are front and center. This little bit of extra money cannot drag anybody out of poverty. It can help pay some bills maybe some food. Debt jubilee along with direct payments would have been a much greater solution to helping people. When it's the government that is the reason for an issue it's definitely the government's job to fix the issue. My problem is people want to leave it to the government to solve every problemmin people's lives. If you are in poverty/debt, then this extra money that folks are receiving should help towards getting out of povertyz/debt. Solve it, no, but it's up to each individual to make better choices.
Now Tito says basically (from my understanding) folks are going to get this money and splurge like there's is no tomorrow. I agree and that is why the cycle of poverty qnd people being in debt will continue until people make better choices. No amount of help from the government or reparations will end poverty (whether financially or mentally) until people (generally speaking) decide they want out of poverty.
Just like no amount of funding for schools will change the succes or failure of school child if the parent/s aren't involved in teaching their own children.
I never said this money will get people out of poverty ("solve it/no"). Yet this money can help people begin the process of getting out of poverty/debt. I also said people have to better choices. You can chose to ignore that making bad choices isn't a part of the cause of poverty and people being in debt but it's the reality. Besides, you are a part of the voting doesn't matter crowd. Plus you also believe you can live outside of the government, meanwhile here you are talking about policy. This is incorrect but it's a view that many have on poverty. As for @Tito_Jackson point he is correct. That's why they give the money so that they can keep the cycle of consumerism going. They aren't giving out money because they care about poverty. The system needs consumers. So I disagree that money and debt relief won't help. Redistribution of the GDP to the people who need it instead of UP to businesses that don't would help tremendously
Yea because policy is the reason black wealth has been stagnant for 100 years. Voting isn't going to change that..it hasn't so why would I look at that data and say..maybe if I vote for biden it will change lmao. You continue to blame poor people for being poor. Do tell how this money can start a process for someone who lives in NYC. 1400 dollars. I know it sounds good but this isn't realityI never said this money will get people out of poverty ("solve it/no"). Yet this money can help people begin the process of getting out of poverty/debt. First lets jot try to limit this to NYC.Yea because policy is the reason black wealth has been stagnant for 100 years. First off no family that is in poverty should be investing unless you mean investing in food and or supplies.First lets jot try to limit this to NYC.
So if you haven't been receiving this money for x amount of years of your life and now you are. You can pay down or pay off any debt/fine you have (including debt put under one's child's name).
Fines, fees, debt, etc...often contributes greatly to the continuation of poverty.
This money can also be use to invest with.
Now what I want you do explain is what you believe the solution to poverty are??
Oh okay.
I thought buddy was some butt hurt Bernie supporter that wanted to cause havoc.

Yes they have to do decide they do not want to be poor anymore. That is a process to take control of your life by going doing what one needs to do to change their circumstance in life.Even though it took massive government programs to create the middle-class in the first place? People just need to decide they don't want to be poor anymore at that will be all it takes?
Yea I don't understand this take but he's not alone in believing such foolishnessEven though it took massive government programs to create the middle-class in the first place? People just need to decide they don't want to be poor anymore at that will be all it takes?
I answered u above twiceYes they have to do decide they do not want to be poor anymore. That is a process to take control of your life by going doing what one needs to do to change their circumstance in life.
You guys don't belive the dems or republicans are doing or will do anything for black/poor people. So then what is the solution to change poor people's circumstance in life?
I'll repeat the same thing I just wrote to your brother. If you believe politicians (republican/dem) are going to do anything for black or poor people. What then is the solution to change people's circumstance in life because it's not going to come from the government?First off no family that is in poverty should be investing unless you mean investing in food and or supplies.
I stated this above but I'll write it again. The solution to poverty is the redistribution of wealth that currently gets redistributed UP and not down. In this capitalist system workers do not get paid according to what they provide. Billion dollar bailouts are given to corporations (which is socialism) btw and pennies are given to the people. Debt cancellation and money given to the people for a longer period of time instead of this one time payment and tax credit would really help lift people out of poverty. Debt jubilee..google it. That minimum wage the democrats caved on would have also helped but they clearly don't care about the people like they say. These things will help. We'll never have the wealth that others have but it's a start.
So how will you get the wealthy/the government to redistribute that wealth?I answered u above twice
You asked me how I would fix poverty... obviously the government doesn't want to do that because our system is capitalism. Poverty is a necessity in order for this system to work. So now where back to square one as to why Dems or Republicans aren't eager to really solve this issue. So how will you get the wealthy/the government to redistribute that wealth?
So that's means your solutions are nothing more than a theories. I am asking you for practical solutions, since you demiss self help/people making better choices in life. You asked me how I would fix poverty... obviously the government doesn't want to do that because our system is capitalism. It's not either or...people can attempt to help themselves and have some success but lifting themselves out of poverty without an influx of capital? Not happeningSo that's means your solutions are nothing more than a theories. I am asking you for practical solutions, since you demiss self help/people making better choices in life.

And only if it's in their own self interestI believe they need to be coerced into doing so!
So outside of the government doing anything to change poor people/black people circumstances. What can be done right now to make changes in poor people/black people's lives?I believe they need to be coerced into doing so!
Well that has been my argument. Both things...but you folks lean more towards the government for change and I lean more towrds the individual for change. Voting to get one's needs and wants met. As well as self help but you do not believe in government as part of the solution on one hand but on the other hand you belive government is the solution. It's not either or...people can attempt to help themselves and have some success but lifting themselves out of poverty without an influx of capital? Not happening
Government should be apart of the solution..they refuse unless it's in their own self interest.Well that has been my argument. The bottomline is each person is responsible for their lives and the lives of theie dependents
It's a message board wtfIMO this thread should stay on the main board, just unsticky it.
Another idea is to make a thread that only Spectrum is allowed to post in, that way you won't have pages of dudes going back and forth.
Here's the bottomline. If you and your babies are starving. Are you going to wait on the government to do right and feed you and your babies...(even though they've failed to do so and aint planning on doing so) or are you going to make shit happen to feed yourself and your babies?Government should be apart of the solution..they refuse unless it's in their own self interest.
And this is why people resort to "crime". Poverty and unemployment are the precursors to crime. What I don't see focused on as much is so called white collar and corporate crime which is just as badHere's the bottomline. If you and your babies are starving. You didn't answer the question. What are you going to do?And this is why people resort to "crime". Poverty and unemployment are the precursors to crime. What I don't see focused on as much is so called white collar and corporate crime which is just as bad
I did answer u lol..I said that people can help themselves but that won't lift them out of povertyYou didn't answer the question. What are you going to do?
