Lies. Between 2004-2010 Kamala Harris was district attorney of San Francisco. In that time, there were 1956 marijuana convictions. Of those convicted, only 45 ever served jail time. Why?
In 2005 Kamala created a program called Back On Track, allowing low level non violent drug offenders to enroll in school in lieu of doing jail time.
When they graduate, their records are wiped clean, preventing barriers to employment in the future. The program was found to reduce recidivism, which was typically around 53%, to less than 10%.
