YT wants to intimate that they were against Ye’s ranting all along. They don’t want their own actions highlighted.
The Chinese used these tactics to run off spyware Big Tech companies giving them a way out to save face, rather than publicly rejecting them. They are fine with you being spied on and will sell that garbage to us, but won't go near it themselves.
Kanye used the same tactics with GAP, asking them to build factories in the U.S. as a condition to doing deals and price cheap his designed shirts. They basically blocked his products from the store. He terminated their agreement.
He gave Adidas which is in the same boat a way out by making those anti semitic statements, rather than destroying their brand image. He wanted his shoes made in the U.S., they refused. I have done extensive research and writing on BGOL, I wouldn't go 100 miles near those evil companies. Him buying Parler, a HWC is him giving feedback to them.
I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one rather than following the crowd. This is a framework that all black athlete/entertainment endorser should be using, you either price cheap your products and/or domestic manufacture, I am not doing deals with you.

I just read it for a news source which I just copied the relevant sections. You can't maintain a long term relationship with WS endorsing their products, it is too risky, they are bizarre. He has enough wealth to generate passive income that he doesn't need these companies.
I am trying to do the same thing, sever ties; live in other countries keep some distance; they are trying to prolong it. Don't be a Cosby, trying to sign deals at 80+ when you have enough money and your son dies mysteriously changing some tire.

I am just envious, I would love to have that type of passive income potential, not have to deal with sick WS who can kill you or your fam for any reason and get away with it. I agree with you that anti-black racist rhetoric is no punished as severely as other forms but those are not the best examples. Neither Mel Gibson nor Hulk Hogan got on twitter and did interviews spouting racist shit, it was leaked from recorded, private conversations. Both apologized for their comments.
