This is a cartoon, not a Univision soap opera
But to me, the last half of the episode was way better than the first half

I just didn't remember the constant soap opera love stories
Obviously I already knew about Cyclops/Jean/Wolverine and Gambit/Rouge
But I could've sworn that it took more of a backseat, to the action, back with the original cartoon

This was their version of the Red Wedding. I almost lost it when Rogue was holding Gambit, then the screen goes black and she says "Sugar, I can't feel you!!!"
Good episode. The love triangle melodrama was well wtitten. Remind me if those old Chris Claremont stories. Theyve given Madeline some agency. I like the rogue flashback explaining her relationship with magneto. I knew it would play out that way although it was a retcon.

I think Cable is the key. As for our boy, he did have a similar situation in the comics and it resulted with being brought back as a horseman for Apocalypse

But watching that cartoon is not being a fan of the X-Men. You got to do more work to fully appreciate and hate parts of the cartoon.
X-Men is the biggest soap opera and they are bringing those themes back with 97 I guess.

Yeah Disney+/Streaming allows the writers to get into more mature storylines and show more violence than they could on Saturday mornings....
