This continues to be one of the weirdest threads on BGOL. 10 pages of nostalgia vs hate before the show even debuted. And now 5 episodes in people are declaring this a masterpiece.
It's alright, but a masterpiece tho ....

No way they're killing off like 50 characters including some of the principle cast in the first 5 episodes. Disney+ ain't HBO and Genosha damn sure ain't Westero.
Most of the important people should be fine and Storm should have her powers back before season 2

Or we all know heroes always come back, but we allow ourselves to enjoy the moment and have our own opinion that it's great.

1. Disney plus shows have been mostly shit. This show, compared to all the shows on disney plus, is like watching season 3 of the Wire.
2. I, too, is a comic book head. It's about the execution of the xmen stories that raised my eyebrows. That's why I think this is a good show.
3. I don't know if I said this bit here, but I've always thought this season would be decent/great. What made me worry a bit was the fact that Disney fired Demayo before the show even started.
4. This show is the one cute chick with a crew of lizzo's at the party. It's ok to look at her...

Out of the 72 episodes of the og animated series no more than 8 episodes focused on wolverine. The only show where wolverine was the focus is wolverines the x-men.
It was more of a dig at the movies
Errr. In the original show Wolverine was in every episode doing something. Not here. How can you freaking deny it?

Season 5
I finished this season this afternoon on the road.
The season starts off introducing the Phalanx in a 2 part episode.
Arkon debuts for a 2 part episode.
There is a backstory episode with Wolverine during WW2. He works with Captain America going against the Red Skull. The Howling Commandos debut.
Sam Guthrie/Cannonball debuts. And Mr. Sinister’s origin is shown.
Magneto returns in his effort to finalize his war towards humans. A number of B/D List mutants are shown.
The series ends with Xavier mortally wounded and taken by Lilandra to the Shi’ar empire for medical care.
That’s it. Overall it was a very impressive series and played out better than I expected. Season 5 had better and cleaner animation than the prior last 4 seasons. A number of plots thru-out the series were left unfinished, so good chance they will pick up at some point in the new series to close them out.
I plan on being home Memorial Day weekend and binge the new series. When done I will give my review.
Looking forward to it.

I hate to be "that guy", but I feel like you guys are overlooking one major issue here.
This will be a production of modern day Disney, fellas.
Unless there is a dramatic change in Disney's current "brand" of storytelling, fans might be deeply disappointed by what Disney chooses to do with "Marvel's Merry Mutants".
The heavy handed way Disney makes virtually everything they produce about feminism, racial representation and LGBTQ inclusion may sour some of your opinions of the series.
And even though a ground breaking comic book series like The X-Men has had a LONG history of being a champion of such issues, folks might be taken aback by how Disney handles them for "modern audiences".
I'm just sayin'...
