it always seems white folks have their personal agendas in the show. weaver's character was shook of death. the other leaders wanted to live long enough to see their home land. daredevil whupped iron fist's ass. as he should base on the show's fighting sequences and gao respected dd's skill set enough to be cautious of him. it was cool. i thought it would be better. it's more so a dd and iron fist driven story.

Huge opportunity that they kind of hit and missed on.

It's just the look of Rand and his voice. He has the same angry spoiled look no matter what
Colleen was annoying as hell. "Hey I can fight I can do this" We know you can but you're not a super hero chill a little bit.
I didn't like Claire at the midland spot either. No reason for her to be in the weeds with them.
Misty know she fine. 1 arm or 2.
Jessica was dope. She can't fight for shit physically but her mental fight throughout the season was a joy to watch. Many don't like her cause she can't do kung-fu and shit but she's dope af to me.
Luke they neutered him a LITTLE too much. He is about good. He needed to hit a switch to busting heads. He never quite went there.
Devil did as best he could with what they gave him. He wasn't a sore spot at all in the season.
Elektra played her part excellently too.
Really minor things stopped it from being flawless.

Power distribution mostly.
in 1 scene Jessica can't demolish folks the next she's tossing cats across the room. Same with Luke. Grab, toss them against the wall 30 feet away, done. I wouldve been fine with that because Rand and Devil are fighting well enough that it would work 2 skill 2 force looks really dope.

Elektra handles all 3 of them in 1 scene and can't handle Daredevil in the big fight. Is she as powerful as Luke and them cause she sure did kick him and knock him out or nah?

It was like right there.
I'll talk about the story itself a little later
that what stick was telling luke to not hold back.

Never watched her series, but Watching this, I didnt know what her range of powers were. The most she did until the elevator was just knock people out.

I had to wiki her, and it also says she can fly.
I know it's fashionable right now to completely hate Iron Fist but I had all the same problems with Jessica Jones season 1 as well. I thought both shows were tedious, boring as fuck, a chore to get through, and did a piss poor job explaining all the heroes powers.

There has been 13 episodes of JJ and the 8 episodes of Defenders and I still don't know what this bitch can really do. She's strong.... how strong? Luke Cage strong? Hulk strong? Superman strong? Wikipedia says she can fly and they made a joke about it in JJ season 1. But can she fly on the show or is she just jumping really high? We shouldn't have these kind of questions after 21 epsiodes with her character.

I think it was the second episode they mentioned they found a door to kunlun. And the iron fist was the key, and the first thing that came to my mind was I bet they hurt his feelings and he will punch at someone, miss and accidentally open the door.

Started late so I avoided the thread for fear of spoilers...

I Fucking loved this season. Yes there were still problems in the middle but I was all in. There was only one or two episodes where I felt meh. And Mist Knight was fucking killing me.. she is fine as hell but gawd damn woman.. it took you 8 more episodes for you to get with the program.

Side note... this board is killing me with their issues with Jessica jones. Her show is still one of my favorite shows.

I liked her show because it took on a detective/P.I. aspect while infusing her super powers in there with the Kilgrave storyline. It all made sense and I enjoyed it.

Iron Fist on the other hand...I have to say he got better but his best just isn't good enough.

If Danny Rand/Iron Fist is supposed to be a naive, quickly angered, highly temperamental and emotional wreck, then they nailed It! But something tells me this isn't fully the case. I never read his comics, so I don't know how his psyche is supposed to be, but his character is hard to watch.

On a different note, Marvel should really consider doing a Cloak and Dagger series since that's also based in NYC. How sick would that shit be, plus it would tie into the Infinity Wars saga (Cloak being the most integral part of that duo).

I finished the series Sunday night. I enjoyed the series but I thought it would have been better. The first two episodes are boring. It doesn't pick up until they meet as you would expect. They really have to make the Danny Rand character mature going forward. He's such a naive immature character. I enjoyed the slight connection developing between Danny and Luke. There should have been a heroes for hire references but I may have missed it. Not crazy about the Jessica Jones character. Sigourney Weaver really didn't add anything to the show. Misty big ass titties made every scene of hers enjoyable.

Overall I would grade the first season with a B. I probably was thinking something they would pull something off like the first Avengers film.

Can anyone even explain what the earthquake was about?

What did destroying NY have to do with anything?
yea that was one of my problems too.now since someone said something about the ending i will touch on it as well.NOW!danny opened the do to kualoa right because when he did it an the camera zoomed out it sure wasn't new york so when daredevil and electra was having there love fight scene they was really in kualoa right?so when the building fell it really shouldn't have hurt anyone of them.maybe a little dirty by the dust but that was it.im saying this because the wall was a door to another place almost like a portal..i will also agree on what someone said about electra being all super strong when shes only a assassin.SECOND THING! someone touched on the fact that she WHOOPED all four of them AT THE SAME TIME may i add but daredevil at the end handled her by himself.lol jessica just didn't make sense period.also i have to agree on her wearing the same clothes she had in her own series.her and luke must shop at the goodwill where they only have the same outfit and they bought the store out lol.

I thought JJ was boring for the first half, but I'm rewatching it now and it doesn't seem that bad.

Disagree fully
She still hasn't embraced her life or her powers so that's why we don't know fully what she can do
She never wants to do it never really wants to flex and thus far hasn't been forced to unleash everything but that is coming

She is a private investigator
Her muscle she prefers to use is mental

it just wasn't good as Luke Cage or Daredevil... not saying they were perfect...
those projects were done with care and an attention to detail lacking in Fist and JJ- the story telling should be getting better with each new project not floundering- its almost like showrunners on the latter 2
were just there to do a job vs the former 2 were really trying to create.

Yes Purple was a great villain and did a decent job establishing JJ but the rest of the story was threadbare...
also - I hate that they introduced this female hero as a victim
Overall I'm expecting / looking for consistent quality in the story telling - by teams that seek to improve as they go forward
so far Jeph Loeb is unable to maintain that on any of his platforms not associated with Joss Whedon

To my eye JJ was ok, Fist was half assed and Defenders was rushed and the story was written with a priority being to comply with the Netflix contracted schedule and to set up Daredevil's hiatus, than to actually tell a good story.

But JJ was the first show after Daredevil and it was a different type of superhero show. One where the Superhero delete with basically being raped and having to confront her Rapist. But I will agree that Jessica Jones suffered from the same problem that all of the Marvel shows (excluding Daredevil Season 1) suffered from and that's the Middle.

Luke Cage suffered alot when Cottonmouth Died.

why do that to a female hero?
Imagine them allowing you to get to know her for a season and the audience accepts her as a mysterious disfunctional PI -reluctant hero - a female version of Humphrey Bogart in Big Sleep or maltese falcon... establish her allies and rivals, world build... Then do purple man in s2 or s3- it's the same short sightedness that had them rush DD and Kingpin confrontation...

Yeah Cage lost a lot of mojo when Cotton mouth died

Fist and Jessica Jones dont belong in the same sentence

Jones wasn't far off of luke and devil
And she faced the toughest villain out of them all

toughest villain? yes
but a very thin story compared to DD and Cage... matter of fact I would say they were WAY better than JJ as much as JJ was way better than Fist... it definitely was a step down - when I was expecting more
To my eye the care and attention poured into Cage and DD wasn't put into JJ
where as Fist's show runner has been exposed as just being incompetent
