She’s right. Earth-199999 is the MCU.

Earth-616 is the Marvel Comics timeline.

This is such a deep pull, only a true, die-hard fan would know it.

She really is a die hard fan...

Yeah but since Marvel has started their MCU version of Secert Wars (2015) which deals with the destruction of the Multiverse...

Marvel might be rebooting their own comic and cinematic Multiverse history...

The problem with Blade is that he's associated with vampires. So far there hasn't been any signs of vampires in the MCU. Unless they change the original intent behind the character, it's hard to see how he'll fit in.

That said, there are plenty of supernatural elements in the MCU. They just haven't been portrayed as particularly dark. I'm curious to see how they'll fit Blade into the MCU.

Everything doesn't have to necessarily be connected. Just because all the other MCU films didn't have vampires doesn't mean they don't exist. Blade deal with the underworld and the MCU hast gotten to that part yet.

DeWanda Wise Opens Up About the ‘Painful’ Reason Why She Had to Exit ‘Captain Marvel’

On the cusp of her debut in “Jurassic World: Dominion,” actress DeWanda Wise is opening up about why she had to vacate her first shot at franchise filmmaking in the 2019 film “Captain Marvel.”
Wise was originally cast as the character Maria Rambeau, best friend to Brie Larson’s pilot-turned-superhero Carol Danvers in the Marvel Studios film, but ended up having to leave the role due to scheduling conflicts outside of her control.

It wasn’t a choice,” Wise told Collider. “I committed to ‘She’s Gotta Have It’. When you commit to something, you commit to it. And it just so happened that when they decided to essentially expand the role in ‘Captain Marvel’ a little longer, a little larger, it conflicted with a very specific moment that we were shooting in Season 2, a very special episode that we shot that I would not trade for anything in the world when we shot in Puerto Rico.”

Wise played Nola Darling in Spike Lee’s Netflix series “She’s Gotta Have It,” and was contractually committed to the show’s second season, making her role in “Captain Marvel” impossible. The actress admitted the experience was a painful one.
“That was experientially, spiritually, personally one of the most remarkable and life-changing moments of my life,” Wise said. “So it was painful. It was painful to be told no at the time. It wasn’t something that I didn’t have to grieve and process and be like, wow, this was a really big opportunity that felt like, at the time, that it was taken from me, but now of course, when you play it back and you’re like, ‘Oh, I’m playing a pilot. Here’s why. Here’s why. That’s why this didn’t happen, so that I could do this in this way.’”

I can buy that. I just what to see how they fit him in. He doesn't have to be connected to everything but what would be the point in bringing him into a cinematic universe if he doesn't fit into some major overarching story?

Hold hold on.

Did Netflix say NO?

Because first she says she did not want to mess that part of season 2 so she was committed to do it, period.

But later says IT WAS PAINFUL TO BE TOLD NO.

Is that Marvel saying NO we cannot wait for you?

Or is it Netflix telling her NO she can't do Captain Marvel??

Just curious, why does the film has to "fit in"; because i find that a lot of the complaints that people have with MCU now; its because they dont see the connections and they didnt see the connections in the beginning of the MCU either; if it wasnt for the MCU, no one would even expect movies to be connected like this...

You answered your own question. The MCU has lead people to come to expect things to fit into the Universe in some way. Now when they introduce new characters, people will naturally wonder how they'll fit into the Universe particularly if the character is like Blade who has a different tone than what most of the movies have had.

Yea, I just be curious because I see a lot of complaints about dumb shit with the MCU lately; and not saying you were complaining and thats the main reason why I ask; some of these dudes though say some crazy shit...
You're right. I'm not going to name names (rhymes with "Ito Wackson") but there are posters who go on MCU threads just to complain and criticize.

Yeah, I know he's in the post credits of this film. It was only his voice though. It's still a mystery how they'll use him.
well this is the perfect time to put him in and tell his story remember the multiverse is open so it would be easy to bring his story in without no problems..

You don't need a damn multiverse to bring in blade. He was always there in his corner of the world doing his thing. This is a different version of blade. This is t a continuation of the Wesley pipes version.

That's good because the Snipes version was ruined by two bad sequels. That said, if he's not fighting vampires -- I don't know if he is or isn't -- that's a major change from the character's established 50-year history. He debuted in a Dracula comic after all.

In the MCU, after the Snap and the Blip have taken place, isn't every single humanlike intelligent being in existence traumatized and depressed? Like, just on earth, after the blip, every human must be pretty emotionally damaged by all that, right?

I honestly think the worst place you can be is living a life of a normal human being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The answer to your question is yes. In fact, after the Blip, there are a lot of things to deal with.

main-qimg-56ef04974b7c7a79205424a2554886ae-lq

In fact, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier shows a lot of issues the normal people are facing.

Let’s take an example of two situations:

· Situation 1 - You survived the snap:

main-qimg-faa944e18d1a0c5d152d6ccbf10b02f9-lq

Imagine, you’re living with your parents. Due to the snap they vanish. Similarly, some of your friends and your family get randomly wiped off the face of Earth. Now, you’re left behind. You stay depressed for an year and then things start falling into place.

You start making progress. Now, there are more resources then the people. So everything is available readily. Yes there were economical ups and downs but after an year things are now going good.

After 2 years with whatever you’re left, you’re finally happy. You get a good job so you sell your parents house and decide to leave your state and live in some other state.

It’s been five years since the Snap and you’re in a totally different situation. Suddenly, a family appears out of nowhere in the current house you’re staying. They’re freaked out to find you here.

Similarly, your parents come back at their place only to find someone else living there.

The place where you’re working decides to fire you as the old manager who was wiped out is now back.

You learn that Hulk brought everyone back. You find that there’s chaos everywhere.

Everyone you loved is back but you’re at your worst currently. You sold off your house with the proper paperwork and bought this one with the help of loan which you were paying off because you were working.

Now, the previous owners are back. You’re now struggling to find a place to live. You decide to take the matter to court but there are 1000’s of such cases already pending.

· Situation 2 - You were wiped out:

main-qimg-2bff871c0be6c6e2ccab9895def752b4-lq

Let’s take a bizarre example that you were getting married. You turn into dust and then you’re back again.

The place where were getting married is empty. You’re still in your wedding suit. You get out of church and go to your girl’s place.

You ring her doorbell and she’s surprised to see you. You find out that she’s with someone else.

They’re not married yet but clearly she’s over you. You ask her to get married but now she’s unsure.

Because what was just moments for you was 5 years for her in which she was depressed and agonized by your loss and she was finally alright. She had accepted that you’ll never be back.

Now that you’re back, it’s your turn to go through all of that.

There are many possibilities which can occur in these two situations. Marvel has barely touched the surface in terms of exploring these things.

It’s better to say that Marvel doesn’t get much into exploring the collateral damage. So far, we’ve just seen MCU from one point of view.

So, yes, everyone is facing some kind of problem after The Blip especially and these problems will some how make way into future MCU projects.

It’s just a matter of time as to when Marvel decides to exploit it. In fact some of these traumatized people may be a greater threat for others and may very well serve as villains for upcoming MCU projects.

IMO since marvel has stated that the secret invasion takes place during the blip This could be some of the themes and storylines they explore.

I had wondered how folks who came back would deal with no job, no house, and possible friends and family who passed in the years they were gone.
