I was crazy for Marvel comics as a kid. I was really a late-comer to the MCU. I didn't watch anything from them until Age of Ultron came out.

Now, I know a lot Marvel characters and teams, including their cosmic characters, but I'm not familiar with this team. If this was Alpha Flight, that would be a different story.

Edit: I just did a little research on them. It seems they largely went into a hiatus between '85 and '03. That's a long stretch from before I was born until I largely stopped following comics. My comic heyday was in the 90s.

I'm not disagreeing but can you explain why they're important? There are a lot parody characters out there. For instance, Marvel's Imperial Guard were a homage to DC's Legion of Super-Heroes but I wouldn't call them important.

In that case, importance is really subjective. I understand your perspective on it though as you seem to be a superfan.

Also I don't doubt that they can turn this team into a good movie. All it takes is good writing and you can take any team from comics and make a compelling movie out of it and MCU has plenty of good writers.

I just didn't know who they were so I couldn't pretend to be excited about it.
