The first two Thor movies were boring though. And let's face facts, Chris Hemsworth isn't that great at dramatic roles. Ragnarok was tge perfect turn for the Thor franchise.
1st 2 Thor movies were masterpieces. Thor 1 was set up and Thor 2 was one of the most beautifully shot Marvel movies.
You didn’t sit and really watch those movies and how they set up the MCU. They were well done films bro. Thor Dark World was directed by Kenneth Branagh. You fucking ignorant as fuck if you didn’t see how well made that film was.
If you liked 'em, I love 'em. I'm not hear to ruin someone else's joy for a particular film. I didn't care for them personally. I felt they were kinda second rate and had forgettable villains.
I liked Ragnarok for the episodic nature of the movie. He's on Earth when Odin dies and Hela is teleased, then is sucked into Sakaar where he meets up with Hulk who's a superstar. Then he makes it back to Asgard to face off against Hela, and only beats her by reviving a villain he vanquished at the beginning of the film so he wouldn't do what he actually needs him to do to kill Hela.
Not to mention the soundtrack and action were on point. It was a wild ride. Loved it!
just because they set up the MCU doesn't mean they were great. Hell, Ant Man 2 played a pivotal role in End Game, that didn't make it great. Loki show is setting up Kangs arrival, that don't make it great.
The first Thor was directed by Branagh. TTDW was directed by Alan Taylor.

Ragnarok was actually a good movie. But I could tell based on what I saw of this latest chapter that they took took too much of the wrong elements of Ragnarok to make this movie. It's like everyone loves cake but if you use too much of any ingredient it ruins the whole cake. That is what happened to this latest Thor.
I've been sayin' this from da beginning. Apparently, a lot of folks like cheesy one liners, campiness and slapstick comedy. I could do without it.
