Just a heads up... Replying to a thread bumps it. The best way to help it end is to not participate in it.

It has been a couple days and I am still waiting for someone to come and wake me. Shit is sad. What is crazy is that his music left an indelible mark on all our lives. Often times it was his music that made us feel good regardless of the topic...ie We Are The World...She is Out of My Life... Farewell My Summer Love., Billy Jean, Beat It, Torture,...and I can go on and on. His music allowed us to ease the pain from love's heart aches...it made us want to help our brothers and sisters in Africa...and of course get up off of our asses and just dance...Still haven't been to a party and they played any of his songs and would see people sitting. I actually think it is damn near impossible.

I think of how his music made us all feel good regardless of the topic. It was his time...and I just wish he left being happy. I don't know...but from where I am sitting I don't think he was...but I would have love to see he him gain a sense of peace. Maybe it would have happen after this upcoming tour. Maybe he would have seen for the last time the effect he had on the world.

I consider myself fortunate to have grown up in an era where you wanted to dress like Mike, sing like Mike and of course dance like him. You better believe I was practicing the moonwalk after the Motown 25th special...hoping to buss that move in school or at the next house party I went to. Will this generation and future generations ever see or witness anything that resembles what he was and what he did...Maybe...but I doubt it.

RIP Mike

And Obama has a 95% approval rating with Blacks, so you're in the extreme minority with your baseless hate for Obama.

And who did you want as president anyway? Jesse Jackson Jr? McCain? Tavis Smiley?

I got love for you my Black?? Brotha.
I wish i could say Obama had love for you too.....but....lol

Not answering the question.

The President obviously supports Blacks, but he's not the president of any specific racial group, he's the president of all Americans.

But who would you want as president? Tavis Smiley? Cornell West?

President Obama is not the president of Black America, White America, Latino America, Asian America, or Native American America, he's the president of all Americans.

So don't expect preferential treatment.

And as any educated and intelligent person knows his policies to help the economy will help all Americans, including Blacks. Which is what he told the journalist asking the question about getting preferential treatment for Black people, because apparently Blacks can't do for themselves, like African immigrants do.

But if you want him to act like Al Sharpton up there just so you can approve of the job he's doing, then forget it, he's the president, not a social activist.

And Obama has a 95% approval rating with Blacks, so you're in the extreme minority with your baseless hate for Obama.

And who did you want as president anyway? Jesse Jackson Jr? McCain? Tavis Smiley?

I dont understand why people expect Obama to give a dayum speech about Michael Jackson makes no fucking sense...Bad enought he got the Republicans and some Democrats criticizing him every day about this economy...He dont need crazy MJ fans getting on his case just because he didnt give a speech about him.....:hmm::hmm::hmm:

Re: Reagan Showed More Respect To Michael Jackson When Burned Than Obama Did In His D

Some black folks are always thinking they don't amount to shit, they have zero self worth and deserved to be Ignored regardless of their contributions to the society and humanity at large, same way tons of blacks responsible for so many note worthy inventions died with little acknowledgment and recognition. One of the sad effects of these slights is Ignorance and lack of historical knowledge about our past and achievements in our schools and cluelessness in our kids.

Saying something and issuing official statements to acknowledge our dead public figures regardless of their past is not only a matter tradition, it's the presidential norm. John Lennon was acknowledged officially, Elvis (A known drug user)was acknowledged officially, James Brown (A known wife beater and a convicted felon)was acknowledge officially..

Obviously, Obama refused to officially acknowledge Michael Jackson and decided not to say what black, white America and the world is saying is simply because of image, arrogance, cockiness and political expediency.

There's just no reason and excuse because past presidents didn't hesitate/easily issues official white house statements to acknowledge America's heroes and public figures. It's not like America is asking him to do what's never been done before.

Obama missed an opportunity to lead and join the rest of the country in highlighting and claiming MJ's place in America and the world...something a lot of countries would do in a heart beat.

And reading some lame posts about Obama busy with important stuff is very disheartening and even damaging to Obama himself, Obama is a camera whore, he finds time to run bo the dog around the white house, he BBQed with homeboy from food network and kicked it with white house staffs picnicking and having a good time. So what damage is 1 or 2 sentences about MJ gonna cost or do to him?

Obama dropped the ball on this one and I'm sure this is just the beginning because lately, political calculations and Image protection matters to him more than flexing his spine.

And sadly, we have the regular bgol Ignorant, clueless and shortsighted folks and their co-signing homeboys and bgol heroes talking out of the side of their necks as usual, this is not good for us as Americans, black people in general and our kids, it could happen to you or one of yours.

Like I said, some black folks are always thinking they don't amount to shit and deserved to be Ignored regardless of their contributions to the society, it's really sad and pathetic.

RELEASE INFORMATION

Recycled is a recently formed group that has the sole purpose of
bringing the INT releases that you want to hear, in HQ VBR scene
standard APS. Not everyone has access to albums that were released
several years ago and sceners are sick of searching networks with
different crappy bitrates from several sources.

And last but not least, if you enjoy a release then go out and buy
it, we did....

Remember, everyone needs to RECYCLE.

R.I.P. OSR (2005)

Re: Reagan Showed More Respect To Michael Jackson When Burned Than Obama Did In His D

Why?

It's a legit question.

For every step forward he made, he moonwalked 5 in reverse.

Mike deserves respect and condolences for his family, but to attack the first black president over his "remarks?" C'mon black man. In the scope of the world that Barack deals with on the daily, the passing of a musical legend, 20 years removed from his heyday, is not of a great importance

This is absurd.

That's why I asked what has mike done for you?

For the fathers on this board, I dare one of you to say Michael is a better role model for our youth that Mr. Obama.
:smh::smh:

2cnck11.jpg

This would have never happened and you know it.

Why the petty and irrelevant comparison?

Michael and Obama are 2 different people and it's an established fact that MJ inspired thousands if not millions in the black community and entertainment industry in general.

Must black people tarnish their own and negate their history, contribution and achievements?

Now, do you really wanna sweep his unrivaled achievements under the rug?
