Movie News: Ryan Coogler & Michael B. Jordan - SINNERS - jim crow era vampire flick (SPOILERS OPEN!!!)

^^^

KA FUKING BOOM

This aint NEW - Not by ANY means.

In fact remember Stallone was crying about not getting a deal like this for Rocky and was hating on those black men so much he didn't thank him at his golden globe win.

OTHER creatives have gotten this deal

No I aint saying its EASY or COMMON but thy acting like its some super rare occurrence and somehow like Coogler aint DESERVE IT.

Vampire sh*t

they want US to give them ALL our gifts for the privilege of being allowed to exist.

F8ck that.
Exactly. The music business for example is the biggest pimp/whore business out there, and black people can't seem to be able to make money on their own talent without cutting white people in somehow and they hate when we figure out a way so we don't have to cut them in so they shit on us for negotiating the rights to our own IP

8Ball & MJG (actually MJG) said this on the song Paid Dues
And look, I was 17, when I signed my first contract
And about 18 1/2 when I signed my worst contract
We hurt from that
And til this day, they still distributin our first tape

Don't quote me but I think Cooger borrowed from World of Darkness, Vampire lore and also incorporated some mishmash things as well.

A vampire spawn or childer, is usually free of mental control of their "Sire' unless the Sire has Domination ability, which works on humans and weaker willed childer. But Domination requires verbal commands and the target to be able to see and hear the speaker.

A childer who drinks from their Sire or another vampire 3 different times is Blood Bound, an overwhelming blood created love and commitment to serve. In this case, the bonded vampire is instinctly linked to bonder and does everything to protect bonder without hesitation or commands necessary.

No lore of vampirism has a Sire able to know what the spawn/childer knows or thinks at all. Sire can feel emotions from childer but thats it.

Moving bodies of water are often a deterrent or problematic to vampies, unless moved through or across such water is done within container with homeland dirt.

Some vampire clans have a power called Fortitude which at high levels allow elder vampires to soak sun damage for extended periods of time.

The Sire in Sinner is very much depicted as an elder vampire from the very beginning of him running in the sun for considerable distance and time. Also in the end, being in moving river\stream and in full sunlight and on fire and staked. Sunlight is supposed to do aggravated damage to a vampire.

Also what was largely overlooked or intentionally ignored is this, staking a vampire doesn't kill them, it renders them incapable of moving or using any supernatural ability or speaking, thus allowing them to be killed in whatever manner after.

Just adding for insight.
Negro are u a vampire in real life? Lol.

But I have seen vampires movie where they can see what u think once they taste blood. And indeed stake dont kill them. But over the years that has been changed. I mean look at blade.

But u are right that is how it suppose to be.

I got to ask, what's your background, slick? I know BGOL is anonymous and ain't nobody trying to reveal their actual self, but what's your background, education, knowledge, what do you do, because that comment is not your run-of-the-mill

But the thing is, there aren't any set rules with fictional creatures.

One of the funniest complaints I saw on another forum about Sinners was someone saying "Vampires eyes don't glow! They wouldn't be able to sneak up on their victims!" :hmm: I was like mofo if I decide vampire eyes glow in the vampire story that I write, then vampire eyes fucking glow lol. Same way the Blade movies eliminated holy water or the "invite them in" thing. Or how vampires turn into bats in some stories, in others they don't.

I mean according to legends there are set of rules. But over the years like u said people have change things around. At this point a vamp is what u make it. Like them gay ass vamps in twilight.

Concerning the glowing eyes that was stupid. Let homeboy who said watch animal kingdom glowing eyes everywhere and they sneak up on their prey lol.

A familiar isn’t a vampire

And they all came out at night

Or wore a cream

Blade still played by the rules but with enhancements

We keep trying to warn them but that's they mans (sorry to bring this in here, but you can see the correlation).

Excellent correlation discussion, fam. That well-done scene parallels a lot of American history.

I mistakenly thought Variety was somehow BETTER than this.

I could not have been more wrong.

When I saw those clickbait articles from Variety attempting to make mountains out of mole hills when writing highly exaggerated articles on how Dave Chappelle's stand up is causing mass protests (which turned out to be only on1 or 2 lgbt students) against his Highschool renaming itself after Chappelle. That showed me what time Variety was on.

When a white man changes vampire lore he is called a revolutionary thinker who expanded a 100 year mythology.

Black man does it?

Suddenly it makes no sense he isn't following the rules and where did he "borrow" that idea from?

I'm on glock time with any haters about that brother. I ain't trying to hear sh*t

It's Wakanda over everybody.

F*ck all colonizers and anyone on the other side.

You don't like this movement? stfu and go do something else.

I agree

Something I saw in a youtube comment section that I hadn't considered, with Smoke and Stack:

They’re also dressed for their respective mafia “families!” Stack is dressed like Al Capone because he was with the Italians and Smoke is straight out of Peaky Blinders because he was with the Irish!I love this detail because the costumes don’t only distinguish the twin characters, it also establishes that they split up at one point, likely how they managed to rob BOTH sides and make a clean break. “Boss I was with you that night!”

Not confirmed by Coogler and company (as far as I know), but it is an amusing possibility lol
The did a breakdown which includes "old news articles"
Man, the details in this movie

We can't have NOTHING!!!!

Did Lin Manuel die?!?!? The motherfcuker rewrote Namor to give Latino representation, but apparently once this movie starts doing numbers Latinos needed to be in this too.

Lmaoooo I’ve never heard anybody call dusk till dawn a “Latino” vampire movie.. even though they were in Mexico and they had Cheech and Selma nobody I know thinks Latino vampire movie.. Clooney, Tarantino, Harvey keitel, Juliet lewis, Fred Williamson, sex machine were the cast most people remember and cared about.. it was a survival movie that literally could’ve been anywhere

When I tell you I'm so glad I paid to go see Sinners only to walk into The Accountant 2. Not that the accountant was a bad movie, but I hate when a movie tries to be more than it is.

In the movie Sinners , there was about 45 minutes worth of stuff before the vampires even showed up. This got you to care about the characters, great character exposition and all that. For the accountant, they added some unnecessary fluff shit that could have taken a good 35 minutes to 40 off of the film and it wouldn't have cost anything that would have been missed.

This is why I respect Ryan Coogler and how he writes. You don't add unnecessary fluff for no reason that adds nothing to the story. They added some nonsense where the accountant cracks a dating site code. Why?

It ended well, but I'm glad it didn't get my money. It started off in a manner that I wondered why they even made the movie for 45 minutes. It redeems itself, but only to make you more annoyed as to question why didn't they start with all the stuff that added to the actual story versus having been Affleck crack a speed dating site code and then piss every woman off at the speed dating table event. Just dumb

Also it is no threat to sinners. There was just me and two other people in the whole theater
I must be the only person that liked accountant 2...lol

A good webrip copy of the accountant 2 is out
All I heard was good reviews
BGOL doesn’t like it ?
I saw it yesterday and I thought it was good. Jon Bernthal was the star here and Ben Affleck was good as well. I don't want to give away anything but highlighting kids and people with special needs was great.
