My Casting Predictions for the Black Panther Movie….

- Ryan Coogler: Director / Screenwriter

- Joe Robert Cole: Screenwriter

- Nate Moore: Executive Producer

- Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa: The Black Panther

- Lupita Nyong’o as Shuri: The Black Panther’s half-sister

- Andy Sirkis as Ulysses Klaw: Mercenary / Assassin / Smuggler / Primary Villain

- Michael B. Jordan as Kasper Cole / White Tiger : A NYPD street cop who emulates Black Panther & probably becomes his close friend in the movie. T’challa gives him the nickname ‘Kasper’ due to his lighter-skin tone (as compared to Wakandans :D). He is a trained detective & a skilled marksman who wields dual firearms. Does not have the same power levels as Black Panther, but he is trained by T’challa in a unique acrobatic Wakandan fighting style that he will adopt as his own.

NOTE: Captain America now has 2 (ride-or-die) sidekicks in both Bucky & Falcon… so I predict that Black Panther will have 2 (ride-or-die) sidekicks in Suri & White Tiger.... after its all said and done

- Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Erik Kilmonger (aka N’Jadaka): An exiled Wakandan seeking revenge, who helps Klaw carry out his insidious plans for Vibranium. He is probably Klaw’s Top Henchman. (I think him or Idris Elba are absolutely PERFECT for this role. Michael B. Jordan would be 3rd on my list, but he could do well as a villain imo)

- John Kani as T'Chaka: Father of T’Challa

- David Oyelowo as N'Gassi: Top Adviser to T'Challa. He is he acting King of Wakanda whenever T’Challa goes away on long missions. He keeps the kingdom running like clockwork during his absence.

- Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross: A U.S. State Department employee who is an expert on Wakanda. His job is to escort foreign diplomats on American soil. Namely T’Challa.

- Nonso Anozie as W’Kabi: T’Challa’s Second-in-command. Completely loyal to his liege.

- Angela Basset as Queen Ramonda: Shuri’s mother & Current Queen of Wakanda.

- Florence Kasumba as Okoye: Wakandan Bodyguard. Chief of Security of The Dora Milaje (The Royal Security Force).

- N'Bushe Wright as Nakia: Wakandan Bodyguard. 2nd in command of The Dora Milaje (The Royal Security Force).

- Kerry Washington as Queen Divine Justice: The street-smart queen of the Jabari tribe of Wakanda raised in Chicago, and former Dora Milaje of T'Challa. She originally went by the name Chanté Giovanni Brown.

- Alisha Keys as Monica Lynne (Jazz Singer): Before he ever met Storm, she was T’Challa's romantic 'Love Interest' in the comics. She once saved T'Challa from drowning after losing a fight with Killmonger.

- Lance Reddick as S'Yan: T'Challa's wise uncle, who guides and teaches him since he was a youth. He gives T'Challa vital information, encouragement & 'life lessons' about ruling wisely... to become the new King, after T’Chaka’s death.

- Peter Mensah as Zuri: A old, grumpy but legendary Wakandan warrior. A close friend of the late T'Chaka, and one of T'Challa's most trusted advisers.

And last but not least.....

- Denzel Washington as Bast the Panther God :

Dezenel could LITERALLY be the ‘Obi Wan Kenobi’.... to Boseman’s ‘Luke Skywalker’.
And would teach T’Challa about all the mystic history of Wakanda... and all about his Black Panther mantle.

Bottom line, Denzel is the gateway into tapping into all the powers of the previous Black Panthers.
This is a role of major importance, that could re-appear in any future BP sequels.

All Denzel would need to do is dust off his old 'Steve Biko' accent from the movie 'Cry Freedom'.... and... :itsawrap:

Just saying.
This is good casting. Only issue is that Adewale was in Thor.

I didn't say this movie is something I said I believe it will be based on determining factors.

I get why you feel the way you feel however as an unbiased observer I feel he will do his thing

If not for the fact that marvel just gets it right and they feel he is it
You believe. That's not facts he will show up. I don't feel he'll get it right. For the reasons i stated. and i get the feeling anything he doesn't get will be swiped right on by you people and given whatever break you wouldn't give to others.

I think Lupita would be T'Challa's sister. One thing that everyone is forgetting is that you just don't become the Black Panther. The Order of the Panther could have allowed him the moniker in order to avenge King T'Chaka. There is a whole trial that takes place. This is where you can introduce Lupita as his sister and Michael B. Jordan as the antagonist (who I like as White Wolf) It would give it a whole Moses and Rameses feel

I completely understand your apprehension. No one here wants to build up that much hope and get crushed.

But in this instance it's safer.

Marvel ain't for the bullshit. They knew and now KNOW just how damn important this film is...this is serious.

This is Pixar following up that awesome run of toy story 1&2, finding nemo, incredibles, wall E....

They know if this is not done well it will do serious damage to the BRAND as a whole.

You didn't like BP in the movie? Fine.

But 90% of us, black and white did.

And that is huge.

And u admitted yourself he didn't suck.

Hell we dancing in the street just off that but don't get it twisted or confused...now the expectations are even higher.

And Disney/Marvel unlike DC,Fox, Sony?
Do everything as a group.
So it's the best of the best working as a unit, no egos individual agendas besides making the best product possible.

So actually we on the same page, I'm just being more optimistic and you pessimistic. But neither of us gonna let these white people get too much credit till we see the finished product.

But the happy I felt seeing T'Challa on the screen? And sharing it with my brothers and sisters?

Ain't no one taking that from me...

after all the bullshit we been through and continue to go through everyday, I needed this little bit of happy.

Beautiful intelligent black people in front and behind the camera...I'm on my Wakanda.

F*ck the bullshit I need @largebillsonlyplease to make me a We are Wakanda t shirt.

Sidebar: did ya'll notice that Wakanda is on our auto correct spelling now?

I'm about to put on my Cole hann shoes and try to jump the stairwell again.

I actually met him back in day, great man. THE godfather of dc animated along with Timm and them.
I trust he would be proud of what they have done.
That's an assumption. And not 1 i share. And i was asked who would i have trusted to do the movie. That's who. There is no proof to me he can do a good movie. Black Panther is there for a subpar damn movie to be made about him. On the likes of Thor. You guys are acting like this is the 2nd coming. I don't believe that.

I am realistic. No black movie is getting the budget that say...Iron Man got. And you can be ok with just being there. With my favorite character i need excellence on par with the level the character is. It's got a director who's brand new and hasn't shown he can do this movie. And just off CBR his part in the movie is nowhere close 90% liked. And i take that for what it is. White people being white people.

Again this is a unresolvable argument

Once the movie is released all questions will be answered

Actually you may personally not like and we might so really this will just be something you will decide for yourself.

I/We got a open mind and staying positive cause the alternative is not only depressing as shit but not based on any of the current evidence.

All involved have a strong proven track record, let them work and cheer them on, if they mess up?

Ok see see .... you just wrong.

You can't just spout off stuff that just isn't true. Go Google black panther, or civil war reviews and tell me Chadwick portrayal isn't heralded?

Cause I can.

And NO modern Marvel Disney film has had a small budget, facts. And Kevin Feige the new HEAD of marvel film has taken a PERSONAL interest in this film aND cintros the puse strings...this movie will have a bigger budget then Antman. Hell probably bigger then Thor.

So even in comparison to other movies and marvel movies BP won't be small budget don't worry.

And this movie will not succeed if them white folk don't go, it's just is what it is, I ain't happy about it, but it's the truth.

I call for a bgol cinema ban on making this film available the first 2 weeks.

No budgets have been done for Panther of Marvel yet. But my view is it won't be that much. And i still hold to the ideal what marvel said they can't make a jungle but can do a shining city in Thor. Nah. You have more faith in them than i do.

I thought I read somewhere that he was but I have not seen anything else with most of the stories emphasizing Michael B Jordan right now.

What specific role are you talking about? :dunno:
The lead role... as Black Panther? :dunno:

If so, unfortunately Michael Jai White does not do 'foreign accents' very well. :smh:

Sure, he could easily do a SPECTACULAR job with the fighting / stunts ...
but he would not be 'as believable' on the other side of the role, as an African King. :smh:

Finding the right Black Panther is just like finding the right actor to play Batman.
He needs to be 'believable' as both the Dark Knight in the costume.... and as Bruce Wayne The Billionaire. (Same with T'Challa.)

It would be great to see Michael Jai White in the BP solo movie...
As long as he doesn't need to have any kind of African accent... then I agree... he is perfect to be in this movie.

But WHO could he play in the movie? :dunno:

Assuming that Erik Kilmonger will be in the BP solo movie... and IF that role did not require him to speak with a decent African accent.... then Michael Jai White would be ideal.

It's alot to make up for to get me to be as giddy as i was for avengers.

See now THAT is a damn good point.

I got no response.

But there is a cultural significance here that cannot be ignored or taken lightly...

To have a new generation of young black people saying...

I want to be black panther?

You can't just brush that aside. And what if the movie IS classic?

Do u understand the impact?

How would u feel then?

Cause my heart would be full...a screen full of beautiful talented black people - not slaves...telling a story of black achievement excellence heroism.

Like kdot say...don't kill my high.

I disagree with almost everything you've been saying but questions about the budget are legitimate. Most films with predominantly Black casts don't have huge budgets and Kevin Feige has said Black Panther's cast will be 90% Black. However, based on the stinger at the end of Civil War, it's likely that 10 percent will have some Avengers in the mix. I wouldn't be surprised if Captain America has a supporting role in BP. From there, it's easier for Marvel to sell "Black Panther" as Civil War part II and not as a Black superhero movie that only Black people would want to see.. Add some Avengers and watch the budget go up.

^^ Good points. But I'm not so sure about some of this. :dunno:

What I mean is... I very much agree that there will be some Avengers in the movie, especially toward the end & in the post-credit shots. (Namely Captain America or Winter Soldier, or both .... and possibly Tony Stark for any Wakandan 'Technology' comparisons & 'geek out' moments :D)

And I also agree that having them in the movie will make it MUCH easier to sell tickets to 'middle America'...

But don't forget, this is supposed to be an 'origin story'.
So I could see those Avengers making appearances if the timeline catches up to the Civil War period, or close to it.

But if they are focusing on telling the audience about the 'history' of Wakanda and/or how the Black Panther got started... then I don't see how Captain America could have a 'supporting role' in an origin story... when he didn't even know who Black Panther was in Civil War.:dunno: Just saying.

But at the end of the day, it really all depends on the script, imo.

That's gonna determine just 'how many' other Avengers we see.

Or if they will 'take over' the WHOLE movie.. and just promote it as Avengers 4.o... and just deal with any 'origin stuff' as a '30-minute flashback' in the 1st or 2nd Act of the film. :dunno:

But I see your point. Point taken.

I would try hard for him to at least be a fight consultant.

I think he has both the chops and the skills to be on screen talent - not just a fighting coordinator, matter of fact, I would get the same guys from the Raid who did fight coordination in CA:CW.

I can see him as Erik Killmonger -

latest

A native of Wakanda, he was born under the name N'Jadaka. When Ulysses Klaw and his mercenaries attacked Wakanda, they press-ganged N'Jadaka's father into helping them; when Klaw was defeated, the father died and his family was exiled. N'Jadaka ended up in Harlem, New York, (No NEED for an accent) nursing a hatred against the supervillain and T'Challa, the king who'd exiled him. He changed his name to Erik Killmonger and studied at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, desperate to avenge his father's death.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_sources

He eventually contacted King T'Challa and was repatriated back to Wakanda, settling in a village that would later change its name to N'Jadaka Village in his honour. He became a subversive, with dreams of ridding Wakanda of what he termed "white colonialist" cultural influences and return it entirely to its ancient ways. He then took advantage of the Black Panther's frequent absences in America with the Avengers to stage a coup d'état, along with Baron Macabre. He was defeated and killed, until the Mandarin claimed his bod.

Obviously the story would be changed from comics to movies but it can give a nice (brief) conflict to this movie.

He changed his name to Erik Killmonger and studied at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, desperate to avenge his father's death.

:yes::yes: Agreed. Nice drop.

Michael Jai White could be Erik Kilmonger.

Now THAT would be 'worth the price of admission' to see him fight T'challa for like 20 minutes straight.

EDIT: the more I think about MJW as Kilmonger... The more I'm loving it.

Mainly because having Michael Jai White team up with Andy Sirkis would be a DEVASTATING combo of 'pure villainy'.

I would rather see Michael Jai White play Kilmonger.... And have Michael B Jordan play White Tiger...with Lupita Nyongo as Shuri... because MJW is SO LETHAL in martial arts, he could handle BOTH Shuri & White Tiger at the same time (by himself) in a climactic hand-to-hand, 2-on-1 melee...

Which leaves Black Panther to deal with Klaw and his Deadly 'Sonic Arm' Weapon in the final battle.

Agreed...I want all them but I don't know the contract situation he is in with dc/wb.

He NEEDS to be involved in this movie.

Honestly I want Ernest Dickerson and Hughes Brothers on here somehow...and a these cats to take reduced rates to make this happen

Black Hollywood as a whole need to understand. ..

A win here?

Will completely revolutionize the opportunities available to black talent on all fronts.
