NBA 2K19 (They Will Know Your Name) 9/7/18
I was expecting this thread to filled with people saying that they can't wait for this. I'm glad I was kinda wrong. I wasn't feeling 17' or 18'.
I had the legends edition of 17' and I still can't believe how bad they fucked up on that. They had final year Kobe on the cover and didn't put him in the damn game. No MVP year Kobe, no 2 rings Lakers team Kobe, no Kobe themed single player mode. Just 99' and 01' Lakers team. They got MJ and Lebron modes right, so how did they fuck up so bad with Kobe.
The patches in 18' fucked up the shooting mechanics and I'm not even going to touch on the VC bullshit. I used to play MYPlayer every year, but I barely touched it in 18'. I might skip buying the game altogether this year. Maybe taking a year or two off will make me like it better. I hope.

no that’s not what I was implying...I’m one of the few ppl who like 18 a lot...I’ve just played it so much tho esp. in the last few weeks that I kinda need a break from 2k...there would have to be some major changes for me to rush into 19 @ this point not tweaks...I like 18 and I’m sure I’ll like 19 as well...I just need a buffer between games
Yeah, all that extra shit gone play out after the first two weeks.
I ain't never saw anybody on the dunk contest, 3pt contest or the one vs. one court in 2K18. They had the 1v1 court so tucked off in the back, I didn't even know they had that shit until like 3 months ago.
The only thing I'm intrigued about is that football being thrown at the end. It better be some shit like you can use your MyPlayer to play a quick pick up game of football. Like a 3v3 or a 5v5, first to 21. Be like a little NFL 2K mini-game. That would be dope.
But if it's some shit where it's just niggas playing catch, they can have that, and that's what it looked like.
I feel you. I discovered something about 2kI wish I hadn't. Madden came back to the PC(it came with Origin pass) and I discovered that MUT shit. Had NBA 2k all these fucking years and somehow never did MyTeam.
Between MUT and MyTeam, I'm done. Finished. Grass ain't been cut. Actually fell asleep with the controller in my hand. Forgot to eat. 
Cats spending a lot of bread on these teams. It's fucking crazy.
My team became one of my favorite modes. I hate that they make most cards OP and cards don't resemble the actual player. Centers can pop 3's with an 80+ 3pt rating. Giannis & Ben Simmons pink diamond cards both had decent 3pt ratings. I just wish their was some type of card tier restrictions mode like 2K16. On the prelude, it says specifically that the regular edition pre-order doesn't get early access.
I gotta give 2K their credit. They seemed to make a effort to put more shit in the game this year.
I said earlier in the thread that the Youtubers would need to sell me on this game, and 2K must've felt that too because they recruited the main 2K Youtube guys to play the game early so they can sell people on the game. 2K gets free promo of their game, the 'tubers get exclusive 2K content to put on their channels. I'll give 2K credit, that was smart, and it kinda worked. After watching this video about the additions to the Park, me being a Park/Pro-Am guy, I'm kinda excited now.
MC doesn't sound like it's going to be as much of a grind as it was, a meaningless grind.
I like that they're adding a score card for when you play against other players. Like how in GTA when you kill the same person over and over, it tells you how many times you've killed them and they've killed you. They're going to have that in 2K19 in all the PvP modes.
Overalls seems to have a purpose now. They've upped the rewards. I think at one overall, either 94 or 95, they give you a headstart on a 2nd character to a 90 overall, and you get like a million VC. VC also seems easier to get.
Setting up crew vs. crew matches, or crew vs. A.I..
They saying all the shit I wanna hear, but I'm still skeptical, and I'm still not dropping that hundo for early access.
Mom and pop stores. They can break the street date.
The Good & The Bad of NBA Live Demo
Playing the trial version from was EA access. They fixed some of these...not all. Im enjoying it so far...
I preordered my copy today. The clerk at Gamestop said he'll know by the end of the week if they can sell the standard editions on Friday also.
I played thru The Prelude yesterday.
It's still kinda early... but maybe... just maybe... this could be the VERY BEST MyPlayer storyline that 2K has ever made.
So far, between the Scriptwriting & the little bit of Acting I have seen from just Aldis Hodge & Anthony Mackie... ALONE... it has already completely BLOWN AWAY every single dumbass cutscene they put in 2k18 from the Asian chic named B-Fresh, Shammy Wells, Brandon the Team Janitor (aka "Lil Juug") & "Boo Boo" the dumbass Security Guard.
This year, The Prelude story arc & the acting alone... is 1000x times BETTER than ALL of the bullshit they had in the game, last year.
The difference is night & day.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing what Michael Rappaport & Haley Joel Osment will add to the MyCareer story.

Yeah 2k18 scenes were real buffonish I stopped fuckin with myplayer in there and just focused on the regular season games..
Also notice in 2k19 my player the attributes you pick don’t make you completely shitty offensively.. plus the VC points are actually distributed evenly.. you can upgrade your attributes and the shit actually works instead of having to wait until your overall rating is above a 75 to really see a difference
