I still take Bird over Lebron. Career double-double guy(Lebron never averaged a double-double for a season). Great passer, and could shoot with the best of 'em and was extremely skilled. Lebron is a slasher with an inconsistent shot. Bird is just clearly a much better scorer.

ESPN ( or media) can loop images of fans burning a LeBron effigy or his jerseys, then choose to make the conversation about fans disliking him. Suddenly you, I, the barbershop, BGOL, whoever immediately gets into the conversation of if you like LeBron and why. What he does as a player, his talents, whatever is now minimized to "Do you or do you not hate Lebron?" and that's all any dialogue concerning LeBron becomes. Same thing goes for this LBJ vs MJ thing. They dwell on it, therefore we dwell on it.
So see what happened?
What I perceive as emotions being driven by something beyond sports (black guy I root for did something I don't like, I hate him now), is the only way which this man is being portrayed and all that the conversation becomes. This is all it has been for years. I'm not going to feed into that. They're both great. I can compliment LBJ as a great without having to qualify it in some way.
As someone earlier said, there's more visceral hate for someone that does everything RIGHT than for rapists and killers.

Talk is talk. But in every facet of life and business there are "drivers" and the nonsense you saw last year to make the GS/Cav series more competitive was the deciding factor. By cheating, yes cheating for LeBron, you basically showed your caste system. All these so-called stars yet only one is getting the star treatment. What Durant did was create a team that all the star treatment in the world (LeBron) won't be able to derail.

i'm getting tired of the Kevin Durant didn't win a title because of Westbrook/Westbrook held him back talk. He has won a MVP on a team with Westbrook, he has won scoring titles on a team with Westbrook, he went to a Finals with Westbrook, he was ONE GAME away from going to another Finals with Westbrook last year. If Durant had gone to any other team, besides the Cavs, other than the Warriors he still wouldn't have a title.
