I want every player to get their fair market value. Hell, you can even tax 'em a bit. This is just surreal. You'd think Conley walked in on the other fucking a cheerleader, and the owner don't have a pre-nup.

Man... NBA ownership has never been good at how they give out contracts and the next lockout they are gonna ask for the same thing. Save us from ourselves..

Man. I would just go lottery team. I'm never giving Mike Conley the biggest contract in NBA history.

as an owner/fans...memphis seem to be content w/ just making the playoffs...that's where conley will get the owner(s) their $$$ back...the owner won't/maybe can't risk being a lottery team...not in memphis imo

I don't think Mike Conley is the difference between making the playoffs or not though, right? You're telling me you couldn't use the 150M on multiple players???!

I couldn't pull the trigger on it man.. not on Mike Conley ...

in NBA 2k16 sure I can...in real life...who's really signing to memphis?

I won't say mike conley is the sole difference but he is integral...he leaves and other players will soon migrate as well

Man. Memphis is forever fucked if being located there means they gotta give a mufucka who never made an all-star team
the richest contract in NBA history.

it's like that for a lot of NBA teams...and why there is such a lack of parity among championship teams...esp. these last few years...couple that w/ a lack of talent in these recent drafts and you have these owners scrambling to give out these hefty contracts just to maintain a semblance of a team...these owners are their own worst enemies tho

Oh the irony. Cats complain about workers (the talent) getting paid but say nothing about the owners who make hand over fist.
Fuck that.. get what you can, and shit. The NBA games is way better than in years. The skill level is phenomenal. They only problem. Is that it lacks the rivalries that once existed.

Man I'm glad someone feels this way.
Thanks for using a small portion of logic in assessing this topic

Man the owners get major bank yearly.

It boggles my mind how men who managed to amass enough wealth to own a major sports franchise can have such piss poor negotiation skills.

This is like a nigga asking you to give him a ride to the store, and you give him your car to keep.

because none of this money goes to their bottom line lol. that's why. it's not actually real money. its just money that they have to spend so they spend it.

i don't know if the nba releases those figures but the nfl did.

nfl teams because of revenue sharing and shit made a minimum of $200 million last year. if you owned an nfl franchise, you made $200 million dollars to put into your pocket.

when i say that. i mean this is after all of the expenses. this is after payroll for everybody you employ, stadium lease, and all operating costs. for existing you got 200 million dollars.

im pretty sure with the new tv deals its the same for nba franchises so its like brewster's millions for these owners and gm's listen we gotta spend this money so lets spend it.

Heres the funniest part about Mike Conley Sr.'s predicament... Greg Oden was supposed to be the real meal ticket. Mike Jr was just his teammate that got looks when the scouts started to come see Greg. Conley Jr ranking sky rocketed due in large part to playing with Oden.

that's a good ass dad. took another boy in so his boy could get ahead. look at em now

it was win win cause if oden panned out he would have been his agent too lol
