The speed of light is around 700 Million MPH so this shit is slow as fuck and going 700 million MPH would still take 230 million years to get here. We are just seeing the light from that which is 230 million years in the past. Therefore that shit is long gone in the Un observable universe somewhere.

They have images of millions of galaxies, see the different kinds, then based off looking through the center of the milky way you can get an idea of what kind of galaxy this is.

How can they see the center of somewhere we are on an arm of ? Youre looking horizontally not from above so you can’t see anything but stars.

I've always wanted to go to a spot dark enough to see the galactic cloud at night. Shit must look awesome in person.

I'm planning a trip to a dark sky reserve to do some astrophotography hopefully this year..
