Netflix's Elektra MCU Return Chances Addressed By Marvel After Jennifer Garner Brought Back The Character In Deadpool & Wolverine

During a new interview for Daredevil: Born Again season 1 with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Sana Amanat was asked if there is any possibility of seeing Elodie Yung return to the MCU as Elektra, following her time in Netflix's Daredevil and The Defenders. Without getting too specific about the details, Amanat stressed that comebacks from both Elektra and the Hand are something that is on Marvel Studios' mind

Netflix - Season 3, Final Season
13 Episodes

6.5/10

I started this past weekend watching the final season on the road and finished last night on the road. I’m not going go into details, just the highlights.

The season picks up immediately after the events of “The Defenders”. Being Disney has only announced the Punisher returning, I skipped the Defenders as well as the other Netflix series. I will rewatch them once Disney officially announces those actors returning to the franchise, or if they make a surprise cameos in the new series.

Season 3 starts with Matt recuperating from his injuries from “The Defenders” and some of his abilities are numb. He begins questioning his purpose and future on being Daredevil.

Fisk is still in prison and begins his long game scheme on getting out and clearing his name.

Episode 2 debuts Poindexter “Bullseye” and it starts to go into Karen and Foggy’s past.

Episode 4 has another classic fight scene with Matt fighting his way out of prison. it’s a 13 minute scene shot in one take with him taking on 6 prisoners/co’s. What makes this scene good is we actually see Charlie Cox doing the fight. Prior fight scenes his character was masked up, so good chance they used a stunt double in those scenes.

Episode 5 has Fisk discovering Bullseyes past that he later uses to gain his trust.

Episode 6 has Bulleye debut in Matt’s suit. A good fight scene happens between Matt/Bullseye that fully displays Bullseye’s skills in using simple objects as lethal weapons.

Episode 9 reveals who Matt’s mother is.

The final episode pretty much wraps up the season and all the major plots that have carried on since season 1 and the Defenders. The season starts off slow, but picks up midway once Bullseye enters the main story. This wasn’t the best season out of the 3, but it is entertaining and interesting, especially the parts going in-depth on a number of characters.

There is a number of things that are gonna have to be answered in the new series involving the characters, with how season 3 left off. Fisk went into custody in the final episode. In “Echo” he was out and about. Also, I don’t recall any mention of Vanessa in Echo, she is returning in the new series.

Bullseye left off paralyzed. I had looked up his character and learned he had been upgraded with Adamantium in the comics. When this final season played, “The Black Panther” debuted. So I suspect Netflix was planning on getting him upgraded with Vibranium being Adamantium had not been introduced in the MCU back in 2018. I haven’t seen the new Captain America film, so I am unaware on what happens with Adamantium being introduced in that film.

She-Hulk had Matt debut the classic yellow suit. Season 3 might give some insight on it, we won’t know until the new series debuts. And we won’t know if the events of She-Hulk will concur in the new series or if she will cameo in the new series. Also, the Tailor started a suit for Elektra in season 2. It should debut when they bring her back at some point.

And the series is gonna have to explain if any of the characters were affected by the Thanos “Snap”. All the Disney+ Marvel series has acknowledged the Snap. So hopefully Disney continues that sub-plot in the new series.

I have had notifications come up about the new series. I haven’t read anything, but it seems the new series is getting good reviews. Its supposed to have 9 episodes, no way in hell I’m gonna watch it weekly, cuz I know for sure there will be a good number of episodes of just talking, with the series closing up the time gap with characters from the Netflix series's. And a number of episodes will only be about 25 minutes. I will wait until all the episodes debut and binge them back to back at home.

The next series in the timeline is The Punisher season 2. I’m gonna get to it next week, I got some other shit too catch up on.

Looking forward to watching it.

Daredevil: Born Again is just days away from premiering its freshman season on Disney+ (March 4), but the first details are already trickling in for season 2.

Filming will officially commence on the next batch of episodes in New York next week, and Matthew Lillard will be on the call sheet, Entertainment Weekly has learned. The Scream and Five Nights at Freddy's star joins the cast in an undisclosed role alongside Charlie Cox returning as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

Season 1 consists of nine episodes that serve as a follow-up to the original Daredevil drama that ran on Netflix for three seasons, from 2015 to 2018, before cancellation. After a certain unknown line was crossed a year earlier, Matt retired his vigilante lifestyle and fully threw himself into legal work. Meanwhile, Fisk sets his sights on the New York City mayoral seat. Yet both men can't deny their inner demons, which threaten to burst out as certain events transpire.

Jon Bernthal's Punisher will headline Werewolf by Night-style Marvel special: 'Like a shotgun blast of a story' (exclusive)

Additional alums from the Netflix show returning for Born Again season 1 include Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher. There will also be a Hawkeye connection as Tony Dalton will reprise his role in season 1 as Jack Duquesne, a.k.a. the Swordsman.

Dario Scardapane, who worked on Netflix's The Punisher show with Bernthal and now serves as the showrunner of Born Again, previously teased to EW that the eight-episode season 2 is "really kind of part 2 of season 1, so it allows us to go into bigger and different places." He also prefaced that season 1 serial killer Muse (the casting for which is under wraps at the moment) will cause "a ripple effect that extends beyond" this first batch of episodes.

Beyond that, the world of the Defenders of Hell's Kitchen continues to grow. EW earlier confirmed Bernthal will return as the Punisher for a standalone Marvel special on Disney+ that he's writing with his We Own This City collaborator, director Reinaldo Marcus Green.

Lillard's arrival is another big move for the actor, who we can say is officially back in the zeitgeist. He'll also return to the Scream franchise for the buzzed-about seventh movie, as well as the Five Nights at Freddy's sequel.

'Daredevil: Born Again' season 2 'is really part 2 of season 1,' showrunner says (exclusive)

Deadline Hollywood first reported Lillard's casting in Daredevil: Born Again.

Everything You Need to Remember About 'Daredevil' Before Watching 'Born Again'

Instead of a reboot, Daredevil: Born Again will continue the storyline from the original three-season series and is bringing back many returning favorites, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin. Plus, before Daredevil: Born Again, shows like She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Hawkeye, and Echo filled audiences in on what happened to various Daredevil characters following the series' cancelation.
