:smh:

A guys Jeep just burned up in the US because of his Note 7.
http://www.autoblog.com/2016/09/08/jeep-burned-down-samsung-galaxy-note-7/
A Florida family is out a Jeep Cherokee and a brand new cell phone after a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 left on a charger allegedly burst into flames on Monday and destroyed both itself and the Jeep.

According to Fox 13, Nathan Dornacher and his wife Lydia were cruising garage sales in St. Petersburg, Florida on Labor Day with their daughter and their service dog. They stopped at home to unload a desk they'd purchased earlier. While they got the desk out of the Cherokee's hatch Nathan left his shiny new Galaxy Note 7 charging in the Jeep's center console. When the family went to leave again to run more errands, they were shocked to see that the Jeep's interior was engulfed in flames and thick black smoke was pouring out of the panel gaps.

The St. Petersburg Fire department responded to the Dornachers', but it was too late for the Cherokee. The fire destroyed the vehicle, which was dearly loved by Nathan and heavily modified with aftermarket equipment.

The Galaxy Note 7 has gained a nasty reputation for spontaneous combustion since its release in August. Samsung has recalled the phone in ten countries after thirty-five instances of Galaxy Note 7s catching fire or exploding for no good reason were confirmed.

Fox 13 received a statement from a Samsung spokesperson after they reported the story about the Dornachers' poor jeep.

"We are aware of the incident and we are working with Mr. Dornacher to investigate his case and ensure we do everything we can for him. Consumer safety is Samsung's highest priority. With regard to the Galaxy Note7, we are asking owners to take advantage of the Product Exchange Program announced on Friday of last week. The program offers Note7 owners the opportunity to exchange the phone for a new one. More details on the program can be found at http://www.samsung.com/us/note7exchange/."

think he slick trynna get paid!! GTFOHWTBS!!:roflmao3::roflmao3::roflmao3::roflmao:

ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - Just days after Samsung recalled its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, a St. Petersburg man says he found out the hard way why the recall was issued in the first place.

Nathan Dornacher's wife, Lydia said the family went to a yard sale Labor Day morning. While unloading a desk they bought for their daughter, Nathan left his Note 7 charging in the center console of his Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Lydia said they sent their 8-year-old daughter, with the family's service dog, to get back in the vehicle because they were leaving to run more errands. But the dog knew something was wrong. Nathan looked out of the window and realized his Jeep was on fire.

The phone had exploded and engulfed his Jeep in flames.

St. Petersburg fire crews came to put out the fire.

Nathan said his vehicle was a point of pride, telling FOX 13 News he had made many upgrades to the vehicle. Now those upgrades are ashes and Nathan will have to find a new ride.

Samsung recalled the smartphones in 10 countries last week, after 35 instances of Note 7s catching fire or exploding were confirmed.

Meanwhile, Samsung said customers who already bought Note 7s could swap them for new smartphones in about two weeks. It's two weeks too late for Nathan.

So far, there have been no reports of injuries related to the problem with the phones.2

Tmobile sending me a loaner phone until they re-issue the 7.

They said I could request any phone I wanted as long as they had it in stock.

Requested a Note 5, as I'm addicted to the S-Pen. Should be here in 2 days.

I went in with all my phone accessories and couldn't return bc the Samsung 7edge wasn't in stock. I should have probably taken the note 5, but then we got into whether i was restricted to Samsung phones or not bc i mentioned the LG G5. These store reps don't know shit about shit.

SAN FRANCISCO — Samsung's combustible Galaxy Note 7 problem just got worse.

Shares of the electronics giant dropped 7% as the week started— wiping out $14.3 billion in market value and extending a slide that has taken shares down 10% this month — as reports of damage from exploding batteries in the smartphone circulated, prompting Samsung officials to urge Note 7 users to turn off their devices and return them.

This weekend, a 6-year-old boy in New York was burned when the Note 7 burst in his hands, reported the New York Post. This follows reports from Florida, South Carolina and Australia, where users have described explosions in cars, homes and hotel rooms.

“The child was watching videos on the phone when the battery exploded," the New York boy's grandmother told the Post.

The reports point to a deepening problem for the Note 7, beyond the 35 instances of faulty rechargeable lithium batteries Samsung initially disclosed when it halted sales and announced a voluntary recall in early September. At the time, it had sold 2.5 million of the devices.

"There is no way to recover this version of the phone. ... Samsung has a huge black eye," says tech analyst Rob Enderle of the Enderle Group. He thinks Samsung might be forced to "kill" the Note 7, and skip to the next version, Note 8.

Late last week, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission warned consumers to stop using and charging their Galaxy Note 7s due to the risk of exploding batteries. That followed a warning from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to avoid turning on or charging Note 7s in airplanes.

In St. Petersburg, Fla., a jeep went up in flames after the owner left his Note charging in the vehicle, according to News10-Tampa Bay. The device is also suspected as the cause of a garage fire in South Carolina, a family told Myrtle Beach's WMBF. A man in Perth, Australia, in a Reddit post, said an igniting device caused about $1,300 in damage to his hotel room.

Samsung's third-quarter results could take a hit of up to $900 million because of the recall, Myung Sub Song, an analyst at HI Investment & Securities, told CNBC. He and other analysts expect shipments of the critically and commercially acclaimed 5.7-inch, pen-based phablet to top 6 million in the third and fourth quarters, down from earlier estimates of 12 million to 15 million.

Samsung, the world's largest smartphone maker, could not be reached for immediate comment.

Its Note 7 woes might also help rivals LG and Apple, both of whom recently announced new smartphones. Apple sold about 14.3 million iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus units the past weekend, up 10% from 13 million for the iPhone 6S last year, estimates Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray.

"The gift could not have been more timely from Samsung to Apple," Munster said. "It will be a tail wind for iPhone sales. When you’re debating about which phone to get, you want to hold off until the phone is safe."

That's messed up. Samsung is trying to do too much. This kind of thing kills consumer trust.

There is an interesting disconnect going on...

While Samsung and the carriers are putting on the front for public safety,it's very apparent they don't know whatto do with the note 7s that are returned :smh:

One dude called regional to ask what to do with the 7 and asked do we ship it to you?

Dude on the other end yells NO no do not ship them. :eek2:

It was all I could do to keep from :roflmao2:

I could just see a pile of note 7s being run over with a giant steamroller :lol2:

Just received this text from Verizon and Samsung.....

Today the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Samsung is recalling its Galaxy Note7 Smartphones and told consumers to "immediately stop using and power down" the recalled Note7 devices purchased before 9/15/16. On Wednesday, 9/21/16, Samsung's new Note7 will be available. Verizon strongly advises that you replace your current Note7 with a new Note7. Verizon is waiving the restocking fee when you return or exchange the device to the location you purchased it from. For your inconvenience, Samsung is providing $25 off any accessory or a $25 bill credit. Learn more at www.Samsung.com/us/note7recall/ or http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2016/Samsung-Recalls-Galaxy-Note7-Smartphones/

I returned sort of my Note and ordered the iPhone Plus. I get to keep the Note until I get the iPhone.

Besides the button is killing me. Coming from an iPhone to that is sort of annoying. The iPhones button is a lot smoother and always works.

Calling bullshit on the Jeep. Did he leave the keys in the car? If not, how was it charging?

You don't need to have the car running to charge in my jeep. It's smart enough to keep powering my dash cam (you crooked cops ain't getting me) and my phone even with the car off.

Your phone is going to be on a list and it will be unsaleable. And they might eventually disable it.

Normal RMA kits can't be sent and stores are supposed to be collecting them and sending them via ground.
