Chavez sucks. He doesn't cut the ring off, he's slow as cold molasses, has no head movement and doesn't punch in combination. He is just bigger and stronger than dude.

...and that dude is a crybaby.

I can't stand that faggot Chavez. Please make him move up to light heavy so he can get slaughtered

Not sure if I've hated a boxer as much as I hate Chavez, Jr. I don't think I've ever wanted to see a boxer get brutally knocked out and carried out of the ring on s stretcher unconscious before... I literally hate this Dude... :hmm:

I want Chavez Jr. to win just so a bigger name (Ward, Kovalev) can fight him, make a big fight and destroy him.

All these

Robert Garcia looked sick during that interview, he knows dude looked like shit.

Let's keep it 100: Garcia is an overrated trainer. Other than Mikey his fighters are punching bags but at least they have heart. This bum ass dude has no discipline and cries about everything. At least Maidana comes to fight when motivated.

Ward’s camp wants Golovkin fight this fall, then Kovalev

Andre Ward’s camp are reportedly interested in setting him up with a fight against WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) this fall, according to Dan Rafael. After that, they want to move Ward up to 175 for him to face IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev.

The idea is go tight Golovkin at whatever catch-weight that he can get for the fight, and then move up in weight. They don’t want Ward to move up in weight to take the Kovalev fight first and then have to move down in weight to face Golovkin. It would obviously be hard on Ward to move back down after he moves up to 175 for the Kovalev fight.

Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler recently spoke of fighting Ward at a catch-weight of 164 in a 50-50 deal. But it was thought by many that Loeffler was just blowing smoke, and thinking more in terms of the distant future for the fight rather than a fight that he was seriously interested in entertaining for this fall.

“GGG would fight Ward on a 50-50 basis, the best 160-pounder versus the best 168-pounder (at) 164 (and) a 50-50 split on all proceeds. But it seems like Ward needs more tune-up fights,” Loeffler said to ESPN.com.

That’s a crazy deal because it gives Ward an even money split of purse as well as a catch-weight. It’s a great deal for Ward, but it’s not so great for Golovkin because he’s been the one who has been bringing in huge ratings recently on HBO. Golovkin can arguably ask for a bigger purse split and he can also ask for Ward to come down to 160 to make the fight happen rather than him come up in weight.

The biggest drawback of a Golovkin-Ward fight is that it likely wouldn’t be worthy of pay-per-view. HBO can always stick it on pay-per-view if they want to, but I think it would bring in low numbers, perhaps really low.

If Cotto vs. Sergio Martinez fight brought in only 350,000 pay-per-view buys on HBO, then you can bet that Golovkin-Ward would bring in even less numbers. I think it would be lucky if it brought in even 100,000 pay-per-view buys. It’s just not a PPV worthy fight. For Golovkin to be fighting on pay-per-view, he needs a proven PPV star like Cotto or Canelo, and even then it might do huge numbers.

“The Ward camp told me today their preference is to make GGG for this fall and then go after Kovalev, which makes sense,” Rafael said on his chat on Friday at ESPN.com. “Ward isn’t going to go to light heavyweight and then come back down to face GGG. So face GGG now at whatever weight they can agree on and then, if all goes well, move to 175.”

I don’t see Loeffler making the Golovkin-Ward fight until after he faces the Cotto-Canelo winner, because if Golovkin takes the fight and loses to Ward, it could lead to lower pay-per-view numbers for a fight against the Cotto vs. Canelo winner. He might not even be able to face them on PPV. Fans might not be eager to pay to see Golovkin fight Canelo or Cotto after he gets beaten by Ward.

It’s going to be really difficult for Golovkin to shoot up to 164 to take a difficult fight against Ward, and then look to follow that up with a fight against the winner of the Cotto-Canelo fight.

“Ward can go from an afterthought having fought one nothing fight in 19 months to a huge deal quickly if he were to face GGG and Kovalev in a row and win both,” Rafael said.

If this is true and Ward doesn't at least entertain it, then he's soft in my opinion. Normally I would balk at GGG asking for 50/50 but Ward has been inactive as hell while GGG has been fighting and winning a lot over the past few years, and a mid point catch weight is fair....

Waiting to hear Wards response

I actually can't disagree with you on this point here. It makes fighting sense but there have been some rumblings in both camps that Ward needs to wrack up some more wins in order to sell this fight. GGG's camp is basking in all the hype and deservingly so, he is the A-side. It may not be fair but in my opinion Ward should be lucky to get a 50/50 payday since he's been inactive. Anyway, I hope it goes down just like that: Take the catchweight 50/50 deal, beat his ass in the Fall and keep it pushing. Canelo is a cash cow now that he's Mexico's biggest fighter so that payday will always be there for Golovkin even after a loss :D

oh shit Amir Khan aka Glass Joe is talking shit about Keith Thurman

Khan: Thurman should change his nickname from "One Time" to "Sometimes"

Amir Khan wasn't at all impressed with Thurman's performance against Luis Collazo, and made it a point to let it be known.

Amir Khan, who isn't known for being particularly bashful, made it a point to let the world know that he doesn't think much of Keith Thurman's performance against Luis Collazo. Now to be fair, Thurman didn't have a great performance, but it's not as if Amir looked scintillating in his most recent performance against Chris Algieri either, so it's odd he's being so dismissive - but he is.

"[Collazo] was nowhere near the same fighter that I fought. The Luis Collazo that I fought had more confidence. I think me beating him dropped his confidence a lot. I put him down three times. Thurman didn't seem to hurt him. Obviously with that head clash, I think that kind of disheartened him, but he was in the thick of it. He was coming on strong and hurt him with some good shots."

Amir continued on to say that if there had been 30 more seconds in the round that Collazo hurt Thurman with a body shot, he thinks Collazo could've stopped Thurman, who he says had nothing left at that point. My summation of this is, well: if "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry christmas. If Amir hadn't gotten clipped by Danny Garcia, he wouldn't have looked like a baby giraffe stumbling around the ring. See, we can apply the 'if' logic to everyone. But instead let's allow Amir to continue his analysis.

"Thurman is normally like a bully fighter, but when Collazo stood there in front of him and backed him up a little bit, I think Thurman didn't like that. It showed me and other fighters a lot now what Thurman's all about really. Thurman was the guy who was on his back foot. He's the one who was running."

"He calls himself 'One Time,' but he can't do it. I think he needs to change his name to 'Sometimes'".

OOHHHHH...BURNNNN! Now fight either Thurman or Brook if you're convinced they suck so much.

I didn't really even care about this fight until I listened to this conference call argument between Tarver and Cunningham.

Heads up for later on tonight. Fight's at 10ET on HBO.

Kovalev vs. Mohammedi

Sergey Kovalev defends his IBF/WBO/WBA light heavyweight titles against Nadjib Mohammedi in a must-see fight this Saturday night in the scheduled 12-round main event at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

In May, Sporting News deemed Kovalev a boxer to watch following Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao. Kovalev, a 32-year-old Russian, is undefeated in 27 fights with 24 of those wins by knockout. In his past two fights, he demolished Bernard Hopkins and stopped Jean Pascal in Montreal.

Kovalev has been clamoring for a unification bout against WBC champion Adonis Stevenson and a win over Mohammedi can get the fight closer to happening.

I arrived at that point the night they gave the W to Garcia over Peterson :smh:

That wasn't a travesty. Peterson ran the first 6 rounds and judges HATE guys the run. He won the second half of the fight but that fight could have gone either way. The Pascal fight saw Pascal get beat mostly every round by a guy that continually came forward. If the Garcia/Peterson decision sent you away from boxing then you shouldn't watch because there are tight decisions made all the time that don't go the way fans saw the fight.
