Glen “The Road Warrior”Johnson (54-21-2, 37 KOs) on Saturday night at Wynwood Stadium in Miami, Florida. Yildrim claimed the vacant WBC International silver title by scores of 99-91, 96-94 and 96-94. The 46-year-old Johnson dropped his third straight fight.
Also, journeyman super middleweight Marcus Upshaw (18-14-4, 9 KOs) scored a surprise fifth round KO over previously unbeaten Bugra Oener (8-1, 3 KOs) to claim the WBC interim Mediterranean title.
Unbeaten super bantamweight Neslan Machado (10-0, 8 KOs) dropped Christian Esquivel (27-8, 20 KOs) in round two and Esquivel remained on his stool after the round. Mated claimed the vacant WBC Latino belt.
Female super middleweight Maricela Cornejo (4-1, 2 KOs) secured the WBC International female title with a ten round unanimous points victory over Latashia Burton (4-4, 0 KOs).
Journeyman middleweight Zachariah Kelley (5-11, 5 KOs) stopped previously unbeaten Alptug Oener (8-1, 4 KOs) in round three. Alptug is the brother of Bugra Oener, who also lost his ‘0’ on the same card.
