He's working with Oscar, and other than sniffing coke and wearing his wife's stockings his only concern is Canelo. He doesn't give a fuck about his other fighters and that's why there are no fighters left on Golden Boy. If Oscar can get a payday off a fighter he will sacrifice that motherfucker to anyone. Terence Crawford and Viktor Postol have agreed to terms on a junior welterweight unification bout scheduled for July 23 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas on HBO PPV, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum confirmed with Yahoo Sports.
Crawford is perhaps one of the best young talents in all of boxing and currently holds the WBO light welterweight title. Sporting an unbeaten record of 28-0 (20 KOs), the 28-year-old product from Omaha, Neb., is coming off a scintillating fifth-round TKO of Hank Lundy in February. But his opponent is far from a pushover as the 5-foot-11 Postol is also unbeaten with an identical record of 28-0 (12 KOs) and is coming off an eyebrow-raising showcase in stopping the heavy-handed Lucas Matthysse in the 10th round back in October.
There are many inquiries by fans as to why this fight ended up being on pay-per-view instead of HBO considering that Crawford is still relatively new to the mainstream and Postol, despite his credentials, is still an unknown outside of boxing fans. But Arum explained that the recent budget cuts at HBO have limited how many fights the premium network can broadcast and made PPV a necessity.
“The reason the fight isn’t on HBO is because HBO has many fighters that they need to show and the best you’re going to do with any fighter is two fights a year on HBO,” Arum told Yahoo Sports. “We think that it’s important for these guys to fight more than two times a year, especially Crawford. And in order to do that you have to do a fight on PPV and two on HBO.”
Arum also has tempered expectations as to how well this fight will perform with a buying audience. He is anticipating the fight to “equal or exceed” 125,000 buys, which is not an outlandish number.
recently turned himself over to Omaha authorities after an incident at an auto shop and has a court date set for May. However, it appears that this will be cleared up well before the scheduled date.
“It’s more of a civil suit and he will pay damages,” Arum said. “It’s certainly not anything that will be serious or affect his availability.”
That Crawford fight should be a good one! To me Crawford is the top PFP fighter going right now, but Dude he's fighting is a problem. May be his first REAL test!

Yep... I still like Crawford since I believe Crawford has the better resume... But this will NOT be a blowout win, AND I believe Crawford will be taken in to the deep water in this one. He has a habit of starting slow, getting hit early, and then coming back and overwhelming people... if he lets this guy get off early the fight might be over early...

There you have it! Kid is genuinely talented, and has the potential to be a great one! Its funny how he's getting just enough push by HBO to say they are pushing him... but if he was white or Mexican he would have been on his 5th PPV headline by now... I'm sure a LOT of CACs are hoping this is an upset...

Lara already fought and arguably beat Canelo on PPV, the PPV buys were way more than GGG's PPV numbers. Plus Lara is a title holder. There are no excuses

Dre is not fighting smart as use to, his body work is damn near non existent, he pulling back straight up still getting caught with that overhand right, and still wresting too much on the ropes instead of stepping back a Lil and working the body. He has to get a trainer he will listen to more or something....I'm riding with him but disappointed a Lil bit.
I know I'm not! One, I think Khan at this point represents what's wrong with boxing. Overrated, but because of politics and affiliations get keeps getting headline fights... and I would love to see Canelo fight a few other fighters. This fight for my interest is a step below the Bradley/Manny fight, and I didn't didn't care at all about that one either...
I'm not particularly excited about this fight because I already know what the outcome will be lol. With that said, I'm more interested in what's going on in the background with all of the posturing of potential matchups etc. With Mayweather out, Canelo is the biggest draw in boxing. So I'm interested in seeing how impressive he may look and what his handlers do with him from here on out. I don't think this fight will be competitive (I hope Khan surprises me) but I'm not hopeful.
