The stoppage looked suspect but the ref is right there ...he must have looked into Washington's eyes and seen something we didn't see... he was ready to jump in quick..

wilder has a lot of flaws in his game... but he can crack a little bit and is long, and very confident right now
I agree, but that shit can only take you but so far against the best. I like Deontay alot, but I can see him getting hurt bad.

He keeps his left hand low as hell and that's why he kept getting his with the jab. Very stationary. I give him credit for his patience.

i need to see the end again, but the ref almost jumped in there sooner than that... im getting the feeling that someone is trying to build him up as a killer

Nahhh...coulda fought a little longer...right hand bailed him out again...first solid shot he landed took him out...that jab had him dumbfounded though and exposed his jab (that I thought was getting better)....another KO W for Deontay though no matter how shaky he looked before he knocks a joker out

I get concerned when I see a fighter get right up and not take the 8 count. Means he's not fully aware of what's going on.

i'm still not a believer, but props to wilder for pulling it out. It's time to set up a unifying tournament

I agree that Wilder has some flaws. But looking at the glass half full, at least he shows some resiliency and championship reserve coming back from behind. I don't believe he would have won on the cards but he was the first one to land the big punch and that's all you need.

You could tell that he was very confident. He was losing, but knew that he would pull it out eventually so he wasn't worried. When a fighter has that aura of invincibility, when he really believes in himself, he is dangerous. He did beat Stiverne, and beat Arreola while injured... starting to test himself. Not sure if he is ready for Wlad or even a guy like Haye yet, but I'd like to see it. Good win brother.

He'll beat Parker, but if he wants to get at Joshua he'd better do it before he gains experience.

That dude Ortiz will be a problem though.

A former DL for USC as a opponent for the heavyweight championship??? These boxing promoters should be ashamed of themselves. Has Wilder even fought anyone who's an actual threat in the heavyweight division? I know Shannon Briggs was calling this guy out, but I can see why. Dude hasn't fought anyone with real boxing skill.

The last few ranked opponents he was supposed to face got popped for failing drug tests at the last second.
