Actually, the others (Richard) did visit Locke in the hospital when he was born. During their time travel jumping around through time, I believe Lock told Richard to visit him him the hospital on the day of his birth. So he (Richard) did, and this is more than likely why Locke has always been known to the others.

Locke told Richard if I remember correctly. It was during the flashes through time. Locke mentioned something about being the leader of the Others. They all looked at him like he was crazy.

she is already chosen, not a candidate.
jacob did come to her when she was a child and tried to steal that lunchbox.. so it sort makes you scratch your head about the first theory.
she is the prize.
one theory.. end of days is coming. the candidates are for the future adam and eve..like mentioned above. . she has been chosen to be eve..
she is not special enough.. she is nothign more than a workman with a job to do.. similar to the Kwon's.. jacob touched both of them at the wedding but its only one Kwon that is a candidate. could be their child.

I'm glad that they explained the obsession with the numbers(4 8 15 16 23 42), that shit was getting annoying.
They only assigned the numbers to people. It still makes no sense. This season has been one big bore thus far. Its moving entirely too slow and instead of revealing answers and beginning to unfold the mysteries, they present more and make the shit even more convoluted in the process. It seems to be poorly written and or presented thus far. Not impressed.What did you just say?

I'll take a stab at a few of those..
a few questions i would like answered:
what happened to the rest of the statue?
The island has moved. its possible the rest of the statue did not move with the island
what happened to Ilana to land her in the hospital (when jacob came to visit her)?
what was so special about Walt?
He was possibly a candidate. although neither his or Michael's name were on the wall, from what we could see anyway.. also the kids are always a strong part of the show.. walt with the birds and animals, the two kids with cindy, the fact that kids could not be born/concieved on the island.
How did the Black Rock get in the middle of the island?
possible same as the statue.. currently in one timeline the island is underwater.. if two timelines cross will the island rise and any ship on the water now be on land?
Why was Dharma on the island to begin with?
the magnet and other research from the degroots couple that were scientists.
also the alvar hanso foundation.. alvar hanso was one of those rich types in search of immortality etc and funded research on the island.
Why did the army come to the island?
which time? toward the end? Widmore's people.
was young widmore military?
Its possible, but thats something they would have to explain.
But we see the ship coming to land when MIB and Jacob are sitting on the beach. You think the island moved while it was on its way there?
Do you think his great grandfather, Magnus Hanso was aboard the Black Rock.
