Honestly,
"AOS" should have just stayed in its own lane without even mentioning "INFINITY WAR". "THE INHUMANS" was enough of a misstep. But the show survived that disaster to be able to focus on what has been a great season for it.
To even tie the show to MARVEL's latest blockbuster just raises way too many expectations. From storyline to SFX, those who've seen the films have expected "AOS" to have the same quality. Only to be sadly disappointed.
And you can tell when the TV and Movie people are NOT exactly on the same page. Talbot's Gravitonium boost looked pretty silly when comparing himself to Thanos. It came across as name-dropping than anything of serious consequence.
I predict...
There was an article published onpine, just before the 100th episode stating that the cast and cree are treatimg the "season finale" as a "series finale" since there is no official greenlight for another season.....
Sorry fam, this may be it.
Though ive gotta say I appreciate the early tie ins they had to the movies. That was cool at first, definitely was a smack in the face to DC/Smallville.... That show had high viewership for most of its 9 seasons and ZERO tie ins to anyother DC properties.... This is AOS' 5th season and there were at least 3 movie tie ins...
Just trust Uncle Playa...I told you...
Agents of SHIELD Rumored to Be Renewed For Season 6
https://screenrant.com/agents-shield-season-6-renewal-abc/
ABC is rumored to renew
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for season 6, with the network keeping the flagship Marvel TV series for another year.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. initially premiered in 2013, spinning off from the events of
The Avengers and continuing the story of Phil Coulson. Though it debuted to record-breaking ratings for ABC, viewers quickly fell off throughout season 1. Unfortunately, the series didn’t find its footing until the tie-in episode with
Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Those who stuck with it, though, would undoubtedly argue it’s only gotten better with each season.
Currently,
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is in season 5 and dealing with saving the Earth from cracking apart like an egg. After a trip to the future, they’re back in the present day and trying to change the timeline. However, certain members of the team aren’t convinced the time loop they’re stuck in can be changed. Still, it’s up to S.H.I.E.L.D. to save the world from a threat most don’t even know about. Meanwhile, a new rumor about
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s season 6 renewal chances saves fans of the series from worrying (too much) about the show.

WHAT WOULD AGENTS OF SHIELD SEASON 6 BE ABOUT?
MovieTVTechGeeks is reporting that they have three sources at ABC, Disney and on the production team saying
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be renewed for season 6. The report should be taken with a grain of salt, though, until official confirmation comes from ABC. Screen Rant reached out to ABC and Marvel TV for comment; ABC responded,
“The network has not announced pick-ups yet.”
In past years,
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has often been on the bubble (a show that could be renewed or cancelled) with decent enough ratings, though the series is typically not up to par with the network’s bigger hitters. Last year, early buzz indicated
ABC would renew Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the network did eventually order a fifth season. However, it was later revealed the parent company of ABC and Marvel TV,
Disney, had to step in on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s behalf. Further, early reports have been wrong in the past, just look rumors about
Agent Carter being renewed for season 3 before it was officially cancelled by ABC.
With that said,
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is ABC’s last Marvel TV series, considering
Inhumans is all but assuredly cancelled after its lackluster season 1 run. With both
Agent Carter and
Inhumans now done, the network needs to keep
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. if ABC hopes to remain the
“mothership” for Marvel TV. Marvel TV has greatly expanded in recent years, with six series at Netflix, one at Hulu, and an upcoming show on Freeform. With
no Marvel TV pilots moving forward this year,
S.H.I.E.L.D. is the only Marvel series ABC could schedule for the 2018-2019 season. But, all that doesn’t necessarily guarantee
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. a sixth season.
In terms of what
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6 could be about, there are plenty of ways the show could go. However, it still remains to be seen where season 5 will end up, and what effect – if any –
Avengers: Infinity War will have on the series. The movie is expected to have a major impact on the film side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with the TV shows operating separately for the most part, it’s unclear how the film’s events will be explained. Still, no matter which direction
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. goes, fans will no doubt be pleased to hear the team will may continue on for another season.
