I've been wanting this ever since LeBron and Bosh "took less money" to play in Miami. The NBA's failure to account for state taxes is the biggest flaw in having a system predicated on allowing teams to pay more to keep their own talent.
That's my only argument. If you are a guy that might get 1 4 year 30 million deal in your lifetime, unless you love the big city you will keep more in certain states. That's the difference between making 15 mil or 19 mil. For a regular player that's not something you can sneeze at.
