If value is relative then thats how you determine it.. What one players added value is relative to another.. If Lebron James makes $40million then account for win shares, ticket sales when he comes to town, merchandise movement, social media presence, and dedicated segments on sponsor driven/ ad supported TV shows.. You think JJ Reddick or ANY specialist or role player is even doing numbers 1 tenth of that?? Let alone half?
For a player like JJ, it depends on the team; for a player like LBJ, it doesnt matter the team; talking about value of course; but LBJ or any other superstar can never be paid what they are truly worth as long as their is a salary cap; in reference to CP, I have heard before how some players felt like the current CBA was slighted more towards the superstar; the ironic thing is that most superstars arent even taking the supermax, which is designed for them...

Middle tier guys are getting grossly overpaid tho. The "max contract" designation with cap raises has insured it. Half of the max players on payrolls are essentially middle class guys on way overblown deals. Otto Porter is a tier 4 player and is currently on a max deal. The only class of player in todays in NBA that is underpaid is the superstar class. You have specialist now making $15-$18 million per year . JJ Reddick has made $22million a season . Whoever made that comment about Paul and CBA is a bonified idiot.

I think what he's saying is certain players like Bron bring in hundreds of millions and the max will never fully compensate them for play on the court.

People come to see the stars and the stars never make what they are really worth on the court.

Right. Which underscores my point bout who is getting screwed over the worst. He then said it was the middle tier guys getting jobbed. That aint remotely true. The original point was to counter the clown who said CP3 negotiated to benefit the superstars, when all measureables say its the superstars who sacrificed the most.

The only thing I see happening is decent guys making vet contracts that are worth more to certain teams.

However owners will always sign dumb ass contracts. Mozgov and Lou aw Dang for example. :smh::smh:

It seems he was some combination of weak, selfish and disloyal... Only fools let pussy affect their obituaries. Can't respect men (or women) who don't do right by their families.
Yeah I can’t commend him for that shit....it seems like not a single fuck was given. You can’t do that shit to your kids man......

ESPN will say it's not a problem because it's ESPN job to suck the NBA's dick but when Jeff Van Gundy is roasting southern NBA teams (except the Texas teams) for their low attendence there is something there that needs to be addressed. This offseason was wild but lets be honest only a few teams got an oppurtunity to get in on the goods. A few teams will be at the top and the rest will run into a wall of talent or stink and when the fanbase figures that out, they'll keep their entertainment dollars in their pocket.

Harden: New move will look like a travel; it's not

James Harden says he tries to come up with something innovative every offseason, something more creative than his latest move.

Two years ago, Harden perfected the step-back jumper. Last summer, the Houston Rockets guard perfected the side step-back jumper. In a Q&A session Friday with young fans at a promotional event attended by local Houston media, Harden said he will be working on yet another move this summer, and this one might make referees do a double take.

Asked by one kid why he started to do "that traveling step-back," Harden responded: "In the NBA, especially at the highest level of basketball, you got to find ways to get better every single year. You got to find ways to create an advantage every single year. And that's what I'm doing. It's not a travel.

Harden passes on World Cup to focus on Rockets
"This year, I'm going to come up with something more creative, and it's gonna look like a travel but it's not. Honestly! Even when I was on a tour, in Europe or China, or even when I'm here in the U.S., I see kids your guys' age that are working on step-backs, working on moves, because it's going to gain you an opportunity to be better than the rest of your peers. And that's what I'm going for.

"So until they call it a travel, if they start calling it, I'll continue to find ways and find ways to get creative and make my impact on the game."

This year, Harden will be tasked with adjusting to new backcourt mate Russell Westbrook. Harden said he was confident the Rockets' new addition would fit in seamlessly.

"None. None. None," Harden said when asked of any adjustments he would need to make. "We played with each other in the NBA and the Olympics and all that. When you have talent like that, it works itself out. You communicate. You go out there and compete possession by possession. You figure things out. Throughout the course of the season, you figure things out. That's just what it is.

"When you have talent, you have guys with IQ, you have guys willing to sacrifice, it always works itself out."

Harden said Houston welcomes Westbrook "with open arms."

"With the group that we already have and the things we already accomplished, it should be an easy transition for him to be incorporated right in, and things are going to go," Harden said.

For the life of me I don't understand why I just don't like his game.
Good for him either way.

Cat spends his off-season trying to figure new ways to game the system instead of actually improving his game. And come postseason clutch time- when refs refuse to bail him out- he's fuckin worthless.

Ingram looking just like many others that were traded to Nola.

Ingram is looking like, I hope I can become a unrestricted free agent

Shit, most people don't like it

Hold the ball for ten seconds...go iso...attempt a drive and flail around like a dookie if a player touches you...rinse, repeat

Good move

I thought he was going to Philly

The owners are stupid as shit they let Gilbert talk about how the big teams take everyone so we need to tax them and tax them well so that they won't take them
and now all it does is reveal which owners care about winning and which dont cause the ones who don't make sure they're under the tax lol

Ingram looks like he'd rather be anywhere else in the world instead of standing there and taking that picture.
Dude was just starting to develop last season too. Hopefully he can ball out in Nola next season and earn a respectful deal from a better them when his free agency hit.

Nah bro, owners in any business, always want to keep cost low; number 1 cost is payroll and they all want to keep it as low as possible; only owners that dont complain about the tax are the big market owners; majority of owners are small markets so they were all in favor of that stupid shit....
