Mbappe had them chasing shadows for 40+ minutes so as soon as a bit of fatigue kicks in you start making mental mistakes. Like you say, the same thing happened to the US. Think back to some of those Mourinho teams that defended like that (the inter squad that beat Barcelona is a great example) and you see why players love him or hate him. That shit takes extreme mental and physical conditioning.

Poland could’ve made it interesting had that finished that Lukaku-esque series of misses but that’s prolly it for them.

Golden rule applies: if you don’t finish, you’re finished.

I feel bad for Mané knowing that this would be a dream matchup today for him against England. That said, Senegal should be able to play very free since nobody expects them to get a result.
