I understand the support for Castro, but most of you have never lived under a dictatorship. It's a horrible thing.

In Cuba , you can't even flush your toilet paper after you wipe your ass. You have to put it in a trash can with the other folks. It was time for him to go and his ideas have to die with him.

What about living under the conditions of racism/white supremacy? When are white ideas going to die?

Good. So, could you kindly step out of the way and let the racist/white supremacist suspect answer the question. I was not addressing you say.

Thanks!

BTW, my present girl friend is from the Sudan. You need to update your information!

The same condition that you live and thrive in?

You said its time for him to go together with his ideas. And my question is when are white people's ideas going to die off because that is what Fidel was responding and reacting to when he thought what he thought or did what he did.

I have noticed that too. I was not addressing him. The racist/white supremacist suspect and I were going back and fourth in a respectful manner. Then all of a sudden, out of no where, he jumps in the conversation.
Interesting!

let me guess you want to say it's the white man why Haiti is in the state it is while ignoring the corruption and theft from the Haitian people by their own government officials.
Did the corruption come before colonialism?

Gen murtala Mohamed. Nice guy but I got tear gassed under his regime and I was barely 6 years old.
Gen Obasanjo. Executed two of my friends' fathers
Major Gen Buhari and Idiagbon - executed drug dealers at public firing squads on Sunday after church amongst other things.
Maj Gen Babangida- nullified election results and made himself president.
Gen Sanni Abacha. I didn't really live under him but did all types of foul shit.
Thanks!

Instead, please point out the specific things that make life experience under a Cuban dictatorship better than your life in the U.S. as a Black person who is suffering so badly.
There you go with that comparison shyt again.you have this thing in your head that everyone wants to live the american way.

without even thinking i would say crime. and mass incarceration.
and a few more ill point out...but keep going.

Have you ever been to cuba?
second, since you live in the land of the FREE and home of the Brave...why cant you as american citizens just freely travel to cuba or where ever you choose to??

Where did I say that everyone wants to live the American way, I said that most Cubans do not like their way of life, but you thought that the American way is the only remaining good alternative.

I have never been to Cuba nor do I care to go to Cuba. I have been to almost every continent in th world though, if you must know.

You mentioned crime, who is committing the crime is it you or actual criminals?

As for mass incarceration, yes there is a problem about that because we have a systemic problem that impacts Black people more.

As for the crime in Cuba, are you getting your statistic from the "Cuban press" or some independent and verifiable source? There is probably no crime in Cuba because there is nothing valuable to steal and the punishment for crimes out weigh the crime as a good deterrent.

There are some things about Castor I absolutely love and some I hate.

But my MAN opened the door to some of our people with absolutely no place to go and the dogs of the US anti-nixxa machine wanting to take them from this world.

The humanitarian contributions of Cuban PHYSICIANS and CAREGIVERS are world renown. Post hurricane Katrina Castro offered to send Doctors, Nurses, other medical personnel and rescue teams to assist the PEOPLE suffering (care, rescue and recovery).

But the US government declined the help.

When I heard the news I could not believe it. I pulled to the side of the road in disbelief. Listened to the report shocked. I searched the net still in utter disbelief but found it to be all too true.

The world lost a great man, a REVOLUTIONARY and a COMRADE.

VIVA LA REVOLUCION!!!

Yes dictators usually have some good things about them. Read up on Captain Sankara of Burkina Faso. A Castro clone who I actually liked. He wasn't brutal but tough.

Haha man you silly.

You asked me to name on thing, without even thinking too hard i can mention several but choose one, then you go into all these excuses as to why, birds fly and the moon shines at night...

Do you think the economic state of cuba today has anyting to do with, not being able to produce, stay competitive,or so called lack of democracy...why would a wonderful democratic country like the states impose tough sanctions against cuba,do you even know the reason why.(why are ameican citizens unable to move freely between both countries, but then have the audacity to have a MILITARY base there)
seems like you support colonization and white supremacy.

no one is claiming things are perfect in cuba or anywhere for that matter, but there is something callled cause and effect you seem to be ignoring.

whether you believe it or not,the world needs, cuba, russia, iran, north korea, china etc...
if these countries did not exist, what would stop the imperialists and colonialists from just occupying any country or continent they want??

Ok, you haven't yet identified anything in Cuba that would make you leave your six figure job in the US and go live over there.
I'm not attacking the right of Cuba to exist as a nation but my argument here is solely based on a dictator's grip on a nation and the way he has intentionally stunted the growth of a promising nation. Meanwhile , you're coming up with whether the world needs them or not and other irrelevant points and I understand why you're doing that.
As for sanctions imposed by the U.S., it is well within their rights to do so and they thought that it would work but it didn't, all because of an ideologue.
If the U.S. Has a military base there, isn't it with the permission of the Cuban government by treaty, or are they on Cuban owned land?

They can't. The problem is blacks who are essentially part of the working poor here need to be the working poor in a developing nation or 3rd world country for a year. Only then can they appreciate how sweet the milk from our government tit truly is in Amerikka.

Who said anything about leaving anywhere, second my immediate family upped from the states (your self proclaimed land of milk and honey and migrated to toronto, canada)and somehow we doing the better for it.
But regarding cuba, the issue here is not about oh lets migrate because of how better it is,you still fail to acknowledge why cuba have been struggling economically for decades, similar to north korea, iran, haiti, venezuela etc...not every country is willing to pay for play with the united states and the colonialists..
why havent they had a trade embargo onUAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar.since they for the most part these not running on much of a democracy...its simply these countries PAY TO PLAY with the colonialists.some other nations refuse to do so.

Military base treaty...aka imperialist and colonialist tactics, would America allow another nation to have a base on its soil...?
another nation whom they have diplomatic issues with.
these are the same kinds of crooked govt deals that the Cuban govt set up before castro got there, that helped him rose to power.
Why did the cia and the USA govt try to have him assassinated on many occasions?why is he such a threat.
clearly they dont want him/cuba to exist as a nation to govern itself.

luv how you throw the word dictatorship around...
like i said take a look at these arab states then talk to me about dictatorhip.

These "BGOL militants" and "paradise" replies are getting old...

This issue of what Fidel Castro was to Cuba and the rest of the world is not going to get summed up with rapid fire, one sentence replies. There is a whole lot of grey here and it's going to have to be sorted out to gain an understanding of why Castro is a hero and friend to some and brutal dictator to others.

Bolivian President Evo Morales visited the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro in Havana, Cuba, on Monday and, according to Morales, Castro is lucid and has a great concern for the world supply of food.

Morales arrived in Cuba for Castro’s 90th birthday celebration on Saturday and used Twitter to congratulate Castro on his "enviable and unattainable life."

Fidel house is less than 5000sq ft. It is a simple house, not a palace.

Cuba is no more postracial than anywhere else. Many Afro-Cubans here and abroad have been quick to point out that the presence of Mr. Obama, the first black president of the United States, only highlights that the Cuban government does not reflect the demographics of their country.

On an island that is around two-thirds black and mixed race, according to a 2007 study by the Cuban economist Esteban Morales Domínguez, the civil and public leadership is about 70 percent white. He also found that most scientists, technicians and university professors, up to 80 percent in some fields, were white.

“The images of the meetings, the agreements, they’re all shameful for many black Cubans — I’m including myself in this — because it’s difficult to feel represented,” said Odette Casamayor-Cisneros, an associate professor of Latin American and Caribbean literatures and cultures at the University of Connecticut and a scholar at Harvard University.

She added that elements of Mr. Obama’s trip reflected some of the same dynamics: The Cuban-Americans traveling with the president were nearly all white, as were the Cuban officials who interacted with him on the island. Indeed, much of the audience for his speech on Tuesday was white.

Uploaders note on the youtube video: The ABC reporter Lisa Howard, who interviewed Fidel Castro in this video, was involved with Peace talks between the Kennedy Administration and Castro in the fall of 1963. The talks ended after Kennedy's Assassination in November of 1963 and never resumed under LBJ. Reporter Lisa Howard went to Cuba In February 1964 to conduct these interviews with Castro. She was debriefed by the CIA upon her return to the United States. She began hosting Cocktail parties for Che Guevara at her NYC apartment and speak out against Robert Kennedy. She was soon fired from ABC for getting involved in Politics, and DIED the same way Marilyn Monroe died, under very mysterious circumstances in 1965... a year after these interviews were conducted.
