So the next Xbox UI runs at 1080p ?
Is that important? If the games run in 4K, why do I care if the dashboard doesn't? It does seem like it should but does it really matter.
I don't need the shit to look pretty, I just want ease of use. The current UI is sluggish as fuck, and I'm on a PS4 Pro. If I'm going to start a party or join a party, the menus take a while to load up.
Damn that's smooth as fuck without a lot of jumbled up mess on the screen you'd never use.

Does it really matter?
On the PC Steam's Big Picture interface is at 720P even if the screen's resolution is higher. Even if you force it, it goes back to rendering in 720P if you bring it up in the middle of a game. This is likely for memory/performance issues. Is it annoying if you have a wider screen, yes. But it's better than complaining about steam tanking your game if you accidentally bring it up during play.
In steam's case they've been promising to do something about it for years, but it hasn't been fixed, likely because of what I've said before. I'd imagine Xbox is the same reason since it still is the Windows kernel at its core. Microsoft has been trying to make the UI as light as possible for years, and every update it seems they try something new to make it more responsive. I wouldn't doubt they intentionally limit it for performance.
I’m not upset, I just don’t know why it matters. i was asking you why that would be important, seriously. Playing in 4K /60 FPS is way more important than the the UI, to me.
Not even trying to get into some console war bs but my dude really wrote "that's really not acceptable to me " as if they brought back the 360 blades UI with 480p. Is it zipping through what it needs to? Is it less clunkier than before? Does it allow you to customize? That's all that matters. Both companies are just refining what they had before.

Just a guess / assumption ole boy is an AV "purist" aka tech nerd.... so if you have a 70+" TV especially if its 8K...there's a very noticeable difference between 4K and 1080P in that size range on 8K tvs....now is it a big deal worth complaining about. Not really unless is 1080P and glitchy or slow, then that's a complaint with merit. Otherwise STFU and enjoy your next gen system playing current gen games.

I like it. I liked the old one. No need to fix something thats not broken. Maybe a little more customization would be nice but it's right to the point. Not a whole lotta mess your never gonna use on the screen. Shit is clean. Thats what counts.
