I would have agreed with you on this before I watched this Finale. This whole thing with Tommy seemed rushed. I mean Holly shows up and after speaking with him for 5 mins,(she really didnt actually say anything except "look in the bag") he's ready to pull a gun on Ghost? Nahh..
I really thought Greg was going to Kill Angela for ruining his career. He may have just been "suspended" but that will follow him wherever he goes in the FBI. Thing is that Angela aint really worth all that.
THe finale was just lackluster and the season had a lot going for it. They really could have the setup like the REAL Jimenez crew arriving in NY to finish off Lobos. Tommy should be more self aware to know that he dont have the brains to run the show.
It was actually a series of things with Tommy, Holly was just the straw that broke the camels back. He found out: Ghost lied to him about killing the broad, Ghost set him up to go to jail, even though he had a plan to get him out, AND Holly. Holly's issue wasn't just the money in the bag, but that all this time Ghost had been looking him in his face knowing had been working on the back end fucking up his pussy...
The whole Angela thing makes sense, and actually she is a bigger mark than Ghost. The head of her unit is dirty and now sees her as a threat because she had inside info to get his 'boss' locked up, Greg is pissed, and has skills to follow her, get intel on her and set her up, maybe even get her killed if he feeds the dirty boss enough to give to Lobos and get her fucked up.
Kanan living was actually a stroke of genius, because it adds a whole new element to Ghost trouble in season 3. It's not a bad thing to have an old enemy carry over, especially now because Ghost may get caught slipping because he thinks Kanan is dead.
Kanan's boy is also going to play a big role in this, because if he is now loyal to Ghost, and Kanan resurfaces, he's going to be an important piece of the equation.
I don't know why there is so much beef about the characters transitioning.... that formula worked like hell for the wire, enemies forming new alliances, setting each other up, etc. (i.e. Prop Joe going from Stringer enemy, to Stringer ally, Marlo Allie, Marlo enemy), that's not lazy writing, that's actually great writing because you have to be MAD creative to reinvent characters and involve them in new storylines and alliances. Constantly having a revolving door of key characters can be the death of the series, because the audience can't connect to them before they are gone.
