Dude sunt deserve none of that shit. I'll have to look up Georgia laws.

In Tx there are no DWI in parking lots or when the car is not moving. Only charge would be public intoxication which is a ticket.

About 10 years ago I had to come pick up a friend late nights because his ass was fucked up and sleep in the jack in a box drive thru and HPD pulled behind him. They gave him the opportunity to call someone and pick him up. The ATL shit could have easily been avoided

GTFOH …. FUCN TASER IS A less than lethal weapon no different than a fucn baton or pepper spray meant to slow a person down NOT KILL HIM …..
Good friend of mine who teaches how to interact with police said using anything that shoots out of something (i.e. taser, pepper spray, blow dart, etc...) and against the police can and probably will get you shot and killed by the police and they will likely get off.

Looking at this video I can't charge the cops with murder. I need to see what the cops history is and if he had any other issues. As dude ran he discharged a taser within feet from the officers face. I tying to decide if it was instinctually to fire and was the cop in a fight or flight response reflex?

I would say “No” for the simple fact the cop realized he had to drop the taser in his other hand before he could pull out his gun. Those TWO reactions means it wasn’t a reflex but something he had to think about

Pretty much. Police can shoot tear gas canisters at will but throw one back at them and you are facing felony charges. The same with rubber bullets; They are less lethal, not non-lethal and the police have no problem spraying crowds with them. :smh: The biggest farce in America is that the DA/prosecutors office has any appetite to actually investigate/prosecute police when they work together the other 364 days to go after "criminals". True change is having an unconnected body actually capable of investing/prosecuting the police.

Not defending either but these mayors are stupid to put their reputation on any police chief or speak of a pd chief as having the pulse of the people. It cannot be at a time like this for any pd chief to have that pulse or ever, look where we are. Any misconduct from these idiot police officers and it's a wrap. That's poor judgment from keisha and lack of foresight into how deep the problem is. Gonna have to uproot an entire establishment to find the superficial layer of problems that plague police on America.

I disagree....Keisha did the right thing on pushing the chief out the door. The chief was becoming too weak to straighten out problematic issues with the Atlanta Police Department. Keisha (Mayor Bottoms) need to put in a strong chief who could knock around some heads around from the top to the bottom.

Car running and in a driving lane (drive-thru) is not the same as being parked in a designated spot

Same circumstances as this case but in TX

You're not addressing the comment i was referring to that "Just last week she (Keisha) was BRAGGING about her and how IN TOUCH with the Black community the chief was."

Laws get amended all the time my friends incidenthappened in 2010 the one you posted was in 2017. The point of my post was that officers all have discretion. Them officers in ATL could have easily gave the dude the opportunity to call and have someone pick him up and left his ride in Wendy's lot.

See how them DA's in Harris county are, they aint taking dwi charges when the car ain't moving. The point of my post was that officers all have discretion. Them officers in ATL could have easily gave the dude the opportunity to call and have someone pick him up and left his ride in Wendy's lot.

Wouldn't it still be public intoxication?

Has his criminal history been released? I'm wondering why dude fought them and ran.

Aint no telling what was going thru that brothers mind, maybe he didn't want to sit a few days in jail and miss his daughter and girlfriend bday.

Still running away from them didn't merit shooting in the back. If they didn't catch him, they had his car, id info and everything else, they could have picked him up later.

He was drunk and not in his right frame of mind. The only thing on his mind was getting home for his daughter’s birthday the next day and the cops were stopping that.

He was drunk and made a mistake, unfortunately that mistake cost him his life.

But to answer your question, no it doesn’t make sense to give them a reason. But as we’ve seen, do they really even need a reason?
I know we are all different, but when I've been drunk, an in certain serious situations. The serious shit sobered me right on up.
I've seen too many cases where people have given cops reasonable or unreasonable opportunities to shoot them (didn't always happen), and with them being able to use the court sanctioned Qualified Immunity. Can't be playing games with these fools (many of them straight up white supremacist looking to score). I say play it safe, and live to fight your case.

It would’ve been very nice of the cops to let him him call someone to pick him up, but...

It has been my experience that when a person is drunk and asleep at the wheel of their car in a location where the car appears to have been driven to that location and that location isn’t a parking spot.

The person is arrested.

You definitely can’t be playing games with the cops giving them reasons to shoot you. And fighting with cops, is a good reason for them to shoot you.

We all know that they were wrong for shooting him in the back though. But if he would’ve accepted responsibility for being drunk and got arrested, I’m 99.9 % sure that he’s be alive today.

Like I said earlier. I think he was scared, confused and really wanted to just go home. And being drunk made his decision making 100 percent worse!

In My Mind....

Wouldn't surprise Me if it were White Cops and/or Supremacists who started that fire.

Be that as it may,
Much of the News Media is like,
"OMG!!! THEY BURNED A WENDY'S!!!"
Like a fast food joint is a LIFE and shit.

That's true. And that's for us to determine what's worth the risk. We are already behind the 8ball in these situations.....but you handle it like this and your percentages dwindle QUICKLY for making it home to your family that night. And that's our main goal right? To wake up to our family that next morning?
But Floyd DIDN'T fight and got murdered.

There IS NO good way to handle police encounters when the police ARE NO good.

That video showed bad training which would eventually land on her head. Add to the fact as a member of the alphabet crew her community would take a huge hit.

I don't read it that way. Here is an article after the AUC students incident. She feels like her officers are being unfairly treated and said fuck it

Police Chief Erika Shields told Atlanta police officers Monday that her firing of two cops involved in an excessive force arrest during Saturday night’s protests was justified, but said criminal charges filed against them by Fulton District Attorney Paul Howard was “a tsunami of political jockeying during an election year.”

Are you suggesting that lethal force was the only viable option?

There’s also no way good way to eat food if it’s poisoned.

Whipping two cops ass isn’t a good way to deal with cops unless they don’t have your information and you knock them out cold. And hopefully there’s no video or people around to snitch.

Also, thousands of people get arrested everyday and don’t end up dead. And yes that includes Black people.
