Of all the roles he played, he will forever be King Jaffe Joffer, ruler of Zamunda to me. For years I used to just yell out "My son works!?!?!" and me and my brothers would just laugh. Good times.

When I was young, I had a speech impediment. Jones had one as well. His was so bad folks thought he was mute. A teacher had him recite poetry that he thought jones had plagiarized. Jones spit it from memory and wowed the class. Jones found his voice right then.

Having a stutter is like being crippled. The power of speech is incredible. Jones personified power. It was years before I knew Vader was voiced by him. Same with Mufasa. Hell didn’t even know fences was originally something he pulled off before Denzel. I appreciate Jones not for his legendary roles and performances but for his help in helping me, (some kid now a man he will never know) find his own voice. Here’s to you Mr. Jones. Respect forever
