RIP the Legendary Quincy Jones age 91

That man shaped the musical landscape in a incredible way.
Even before Thriller, I just remember how polished his songs sounded compared to others.
Love X Love by George Benson and Stomp by the Brothers Johnson just had that warm, radio sound on any speakers.

RIP to a true genius.


 
RIP, Mr. Jones.

This was one of my favorite compositions by Mr. Jones as a kid. I didn't know until many years later that this was not the original composition of "Along Came Betty" (Benny Gholson's was), but it was my favorite. Hubert Laws was on flute, and he was great here.



Also, RIP to Benny Gholson - he passed away in September. This has been a tough year.
