A good portion of the actors and actresses who performed on Sanford and Son throughout the years got their jobs solely because of Redd Foxx. He was the personification of friendship and loyalty. Great comedian. Greater man!!

According to the biography on Stephin Fetchit the original Sanford and Son was going to be Stephin Fetchit and Flip Wilson.

Congrats and R.I.P. to John Elroy Sanford aka Redd Foxx

Nathaniel Taylor
(born March 31, 1938) is an American television actor, best known for his recurring role as Rollo Larson in the 1970s sitcom Sanford and Son, a role he later reprised on its 1980–1981 spin-off Sanford. Rollo Larson is Lamont's best friend. Fred will often make disrespectful remarks towards Rollo, usually stating that he thinks Rollo is a criminal, as Rollo had spent time in jail.

Lynn Hamilton
(born April 25, 1930) is an American actress. She is known for her recurring role as Donna Harris, a role she played on the sitcom Sanford and Son, from 1972 to 1977 as Fred Sanford's girlfriend and fiancee. Donna is an amiable, even-tempered lady who takes in stride Fred's shenanigans and occasional trysts. She also appears to be more sophisticated in contrast to Fred's rather blunt and boorish personality. Lamont, being the overprotective son, mistrusts Donna at first (branding her as "The Barracuda"), but by Season 6 has completely warmed up to her.

Gregory Sierra (born January 25, 1937) is an American actor known for his roles as Julio Fuentes, the Puerto Rican neighbor of Fred G. Sanford on Sanford and Son. When Julio and his family move in next to the Sanfords, Fred takes an immediate dislike to them and remarks, "There goes the neighborhood." Despite Julio's friendliness, Fred often makes insulting ethnic jokes about Julio and openly wishes he would return to Puerto Rico, despite the fact that Julio is originally from New York City. Despite the contention, Fred does stand up for Julio's nephew at his elementary school, which has threatened to drop him to a lower grade due to lack of proficiency in speaking English; Fred tutors him for some time as well. In the fifth season, Julio moves away. The Sanfords buy his former home and convert it into a boarding house named the Sanford Arms.

Halroy Candis "Hal" Williams
(born December 14, 1938) is an American actor, best known for his recurring role as Police Officer Smith ("Smitty") on Sanford and Son (1972–76).
Howard Platt (born June 5, 1938) is an American stage and television actor, singer and director, best known for his role as "Officer Hopkins", or "Hoppy" in the NBC TV series Sanford and Son from 1972 to 1976.
Officer "Smitty" Smith and Officer Howard "Hoppy" Hopkins are a pair of police officers who occasionally show up at the Sanfords' residence. One officer is African-American, Officer "Smitty" Smith (played by Hal Williams), and one Caucasian, Officer Howard "Hoppy" Hopkins (played by Howard Platt). Often, Hoppy incorrectly uses 'Jive' slang, which Smitty corrects—e.g., "cold" instead of "cool" or "right up" instead of "right on." Conversely, the ever-professional Hoppy delivers a speech filled with police jargon and big words, which confuses Fred and/or Lamont thus turning to Smitty, who would then translate Hoppy's speech into Jive. Later in the series's run, the officers often appear individually.

Leroy Daniels (born Wilbert LeRoy Daniel November 28, 1928 in Oklahoma - died December 11, 1993) Ernest "Skillet" Mayhand (born March 1, 1916 in Ohio- died May 12, 2007). Leroy & Skillet are a rambunctious pair of Fred's friends who like to play poker, billiards or joke around. They appear in the second and third seasons.

The Sanford Arms didnt last long..that was what u would say a"jump the shark" moment lol

Yup, they had a couple of spin-offs and a reboot in the eighties. Hell, Grady even had his own show for a season I think. When ever Sanford had a contract dispute the industry execs would play hardball and try to cut him out of the show but the ratings were just too strong and people loved Fred too much for their tactics to last.

Ok so the episodes are in the order you have given them...

Presenting the Three Degrees
Mama's Baby Papa's Maybe
Wine, Women, Song & Aunt Ester

This is all from memory so I can't recall the exact season Although I believe these are 2nd and 3rd season episodes.

As all Sanford and Son Fans know the show is based on the British Sitcom Steptoe and Son. You can actually watch these on YouTube now. Here is the crossed swords episode as done in the original series..The American version tracks pretty close to the original.

The pediatrician I went to when I was a kid was Eric Laneuville's aunt. She used to always talk about him back then, and he had lots of small parts in shows and movies. Haven't seen the doctor in like 30+ years, but I've always looked out for this dude's name in credits of shows. He directed quite a bit of shit, so I'm glad he got behind the camera and kept working. Him, Kevin Hooks and Thomas Carter, all young cats from the 70's who been doin that work. I heard something about Eric getting in some trouble over some university booster shit though.
