man, reading some of the replies in here really gets you thinking of the importance of a good night's sleep, and what happens when you don't get it. I don't think i have apnea. I do, however have trouble breathing at night. Been happening for years now. I get congested at night, which has given me a bad case of night time anxiety (basically i'm afraid i will suffocate in my sleep.) I take a nasal spray for that. Then I have a big bottle of Waldryl at my bedside (active ingredient is diphenhydramine). It makes me relax and I sleep like a baby. dreams and all. Without it, i may or may not get to sleep, but i tend to wake up 2-4 hours later and cannot get back to sleep. It's like i just lay there on edge. Very frustrating.

I have those same issues Bruh. The only time I sleep through the night is with edibles but my mind is still hyperactive even though I'm sedated to a degree.
I do use a Neti pot from time to time to clear my sinuses if/when shit starts to get out of hand.

There's nothing to learn. Just put the saline solution in the pot with some sterile water and rinse out your nasal passages and sinuses.
It's no different than washing your hands or brushing your teeth.

Only one way to be sure you don't have SA...

I was diagnosed with OSA after a sleep study. Now I use an APAP. Best sleep I've had.

Late on this. Finally got a CPAP machine. My wife has been on me for the last few years about my snoring. Although I could lose a little weight, I have always had nostril related breathing issues, have a deviated septum.

Been using my CPAP for the last four nights and the difference is amazing. I feel so much more rested, have more energy, and better focus through the day. Not even tired during the later afternoon hours like I used to be.

My wife even said I was so quiet sleeping she was worried the first few nights.

Man, I'm kicking myself for not getting one sooner. Yes it looks dumb as hell but I'm already feeling the benefits.

Crazy, right? Damn thing is life changing. It took me like 2 weeks to get used to the CPAP machine. I would rip it off during the night. Now, I cannot imagine sleep without it.

Yep..same model. I have had it for a 1 1/2 years.
Are you gonna continue to use it until this can be rectified by Philips, given the duration that you've used it, or will you try to get a different model or brand?

I don't have a CPAP but I'm trying to weigh if I'd continue using it until it could be replaced. I'd be trying to figure out the risk/benefit ratio in my mind.
That's really a fucked up decision to have to make.

Should I continue to risk this thing gassing off into my lungs or fall back and have my cardiovascular system challenged for months on end until a replacement is available?

I don't know WHICH I'd decide because I'm not faced with having to. I did notice that there are ALREADY law firms on top of it, prepared to move with Class Action lawsuits.
