I am currently a Notary Public/Signing Agent and take a RE course to prepare me for the RE License Exam.
If you're a NP, depending on your state's restrictions, you're already are a SA.Im planning on doing the Signing Agent prep stuff and exam this Fall too. Im already a Notary, but the Signing Agent side is a different beast. I called the NNA last week to ask which set of material was right based on my current situation (their website is information overload).
How did you prep for the SA exam specifically? Do you feel like the material + exam prepared you for the situations that you encountered initially or did you have to learn through experiences in the beginning?
So far I haven't taken any RE courses, just reading books and trying to attend a few meetups.

I kind of did it backwards by going through NNA and then signing up for the Loan Signing System course. If I did the course first, I would have gotten a discount off of joining the NNA.
I started this process in April and I have been learning as I go. Most of the documents are pretty much the same but you have to double and triple check the docs to make sure you don't miss any signatures. Trust me you will when you start but just be patient and check your work.
I started my RE course last night and I am excited. I should have done this years ago but things happen for a reason.

How do you guys like being a Notary? I’m looking into starting a side business as a mobile notary. Not looking to get rich (I mean that’s the ultimate goal), but looking at another stream of income. Did you create a LLC? Any info would be helpful. ThanksIm planning on doing the Signing Agent prep stuff and exam this Fall too. Im already a Notary, but the Signing Agent side is a different beast. Thanks! My firm paid for my Notary cert., so for the past several years I've only done stuff in-house and for clients. Mostly really simple stuff like registration forms, but it gets a little nerve racking if its something more complicated and they dont let us know ahead of time. It's all pretty simple as long as you follow the general steps and practices, but not always knowing what I'm walking into is my biggest complaint (but that's totally on these knuckleheads I work with and their lack of communication skills). If at all possible try to confirm beforehand what docs you'll be notarizing just to be ready for the assignment.
Yeah that’s high. I wonder is there a breakdown by city and state.
Like in DC, you would need atleast $30,000 for a 1 bed and 1 bathroom condo.
In Columbia SC, you can buy a house for like 100,000 so only $10,000.

Where you going?Bought my home in 2016 for 222K. Talking to an agent, about to list it for 480K.
Man I'm hyped. If I had listed it earlier in the year, I probably could have pushed for 505K. Fuck it. I'm ready to leave FL.
Up north where??Brother, this is exactly why I'm leaving FL. I'm just north of Orlando.
The housing costs here are ridiculous, but it's a seller's market. If I can sell my home at $460-$475K, I basically double my money and can buy a home cash up north.
I've been watching the prices continue to rise over the last two years and my wife and I are like fuck it.
I'm a Buffalo native. Moving back home.Where you going?
Where you thinking of moving too?Bought my home in 2016 for 222K. Talking to an agent, about to list it for 480K.

I'm going back home to Buffalo (or suburbs). My kids have ZERO family here and I have tons of cousins back home. Also, my mother only sees them like twice a year, want to be closer to her so they have a better relationship with her.Where you thinking of moving too?

Lastly, financially, it just makes a lot of sense. I owe like 190K on our home and may be able to sell at mid 400K.
I could buy a home/property with cash and not have a mortgage.
This is one we are looking at this weekend. Taking a quick weekend trip up north and scheduled some visits.
Yes it's cold but fuck it, I grew up in that shit. My kids are looking forward to the snow.
Nice bruh. Best of luck to you as well. That's dope man....Man reason why I am moving as well...
Keep us posted bro....
