I cut down on a lot of sports talk tv and radio.
I used to be a big Colin fan...
then he started showing some extra cac stuff
and I know a lot of it is an act and trust me I KNOW

Colin always compares everything in sports to working in an office when there is no comparison between sports and an ordinary office job.
Everything now is about having a "hot take" that will get reposted and get talked about.
PTI is about the only show where the participants still seem genuine.

Back in April, we wrote about Bob Costas hosting an upcoming interview show on HBO and HBO Max, called Back on the Record with Bob Costas (a tribute to his initial On The Record with Bob Costas, which aired on HBO from 2001-04 before being turned into Costas Now). That show’s premiere is now set for Friday, and HBO recently announced that Bomani Jones (known for his work with ESPN, including his current hosting of The Right Time with Bomani Jones and contributions to Outside The Lines, Highly Questionable, and more) will be part of that show, both with on-camera commentaries and with contribution to roundtable discussions. And Jones tweeted about that Monday:

They did not know what to do.

They launched the app
Trump and Colin
So politics and racists teams and fans became an issue
Mo money mo problems...
Then the lay offs
Not knowing what to do with the espn personalities
Athletes now able to control their own content

They can't figure out what to do with sportscenter. At One time the mothership.
They completely f*cked up the mike & mike transition
Completely underestimating the importance of that morning slot to damn near everything they do...
Fumbled get up very badly but recovered well during the pandemic
But morning radio is VERY IMPORTANT
They gave greeny and max their own shows to middling results
And kjz was a bad idea from day one.
It was SUPPOSED to have been Key and Max like in LA.
So it seems we going back to that.
As lucrative as Stephen A contract is? It's messed up cause he a slave. He basically on 24 hour call...
Yeah it's great exposure and he is kinda the face of the network and gets to be on Disney stuff...
But Greeny gets the same money for much much less work.
And SAS act is getting tired ain't nobody watching his solo show

They always said they were going to raise Max profile... and they gave him a lil show on plus and a radio show... yeah ok.
But they gotta save morning radio and actually think in THAT slot he would be good because it's radio, TV show, Podcast in one morning radio show
Out of SAS shadow.
I think what they should do is add a revolving door of co hosts on First take moving forward. Train Molly up to be a stronger voice.
It's still Stephen A show and he can debate a revolving door of guests and have the espn regulars and guests come to debate not just for a segment but a whole show.
Much like now but more structured.
Bomani needs his own show on TV too.
They need work on ALL their podcasts more and create some new ones.
They need REAL shows on the app, podcasts and TV

Max doesn't get the same reaction on takes from viewers like a SAS, Skip or Shannon.
He plays it too safe most of the time and isn't knowledgeable enough about football and basketball outside of NYC.
Plus, that morning show with Keyshawn needs a kick in the ass. It's boring as fuck and the one guy has been on leave due to a medical issue.
Word is they want to replace him anyway.

Max is not a compelling Radio Personality
He is a great boxing analyst and well versed/opinated in other sports but he doesnt have charamsic/appeal to stand on his own imo
imo his best fit was as the host of around the horn back in the day
since then outside of boxing its been a game of musical chairs
