Last fall, Jones signed a contract extension with ESPN to host his three-times per week podcast, “The Right Time with Bomani Jones.” His show is the second-highest-rated podcast among ESPN’s 35+ shows, but the network has not shown interest in renewing his contract, Jones told FOS”

Where did Bomani say this?

Cause I just read the 2 sites

I don't see that quote anywhere.

I saw what you posted

I'm looking for WHERE Bo told FOS that his contract wasn't getting renewed.

I'm saying the SOURCE you posted seems suspect to me.

They claiming Bo said that himself...

And I can't find that any where.

I think FOS interviewed him and in some instances provided quotes but in others described what he said.

I'm not familiar with that outlet but I do think Awful Announcing is solid as far as I know, so I'm trusting that they are relaying a reliable source.

If I'm wrong, feel free to roast me! :)

Nah you good

It's these sites that's sh*t.

You don't know who to trust

I'm a day one fan of Bo so it took me off guard when I say it.

The twitter comments....smh. Can't say they didn't give the brotha multiple opportunities

Yeah, I watched the show and knew it would be cancelled. Honestly, it just wasn’t that good. It seemed forced and Bomani just didn’t seem natural in that format. He’s a talented brother, I just think he needs another format, or to be partnered with someone.

I think it's just a tough climate in his field right now.

Plenty of people are saying JVG was the best color commentator out there but he's gone from ESPN along with dozens of others.

Like others, I didn't even know Bob Costas's show was cancelled! He has always been a renowned host but nobody even talked about him getting scrapped.

A-Rod might be evacuating the Mothership.
Alex Rodriguez is “closing in” on a multi-year contract with Fox Sports to remain a studio analyst with the network, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The report says the new Fox Sports contract “is said to be exclusive, meaning that the current season will be his last at ESPN.”
The 14-time All-Star has been working for both networks for the past several years.
At ESPN, Rodriguez had been the color commentator on the network’s “Sunday Night Baseball” weekly telecast.

The video player is currently playing an ad.
Since last season, Rodriguez has worked with Yankees play-by-play broadcaster Michael Kay on a select series of “KayRod” simulcasts on Sunday nights on ESPN2, and has called a few other ESPN baseball games per year as an analyst.

He has been with ESPN since 2018.
Rodriguez joined Fox Sports’ MLB playoff studio coverage in 2015 and 2016 before he signed on as a full-time analyst in 2017.
The Hollywood Reporter’s story notes that Rodriguez’s new deal is “believed to be the most lucrative deal yet for an MLB analyst.”
Rodriguez works on the Fox Sports baseball coverage alongside Kevin Burkhardt and analysts David Ortiz and Derek Jeter.
Fox Sports first aired the World Series in 1996 and has done so consecutively since 2000.

The exclusive deal with Fox Sports has not been finalized, sources cautioned.
Spokespeople for Fox Sports and ESPN declined to comment to The Post for this story.
Rodriguez’s MLB career spanned from 1994-2016, with the Mariners, Rangers and Yankees.

He was a three-time American League MVP and won the 2009 World Series with the Bombers.
Rodriguez purchased the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves with Marc Lore, the billionaire who was formerly an executive at Walmart.

Seems especially moronic to lay off someone only 15% of the way through a guaranteed contract.

If these are cost-saving cuts, what’s the logic here?

Maybe they are betting he doesn’t want to be on the sidelines for half a decade— That arguably could hurt his future marketability enough that he actually loses money in the long-run. Arguably. And maybe he has a competition clause where he forfeits money by taking a new job? Grasping at straws but nothing else makes sense.

This is insane to me but people in the business SWEAR to me there is a metric at play here where this ends up being financially beneficial to the parent company

I'm still not smart enough to understand it

But its similar to what WB did dumping completed projects and fire executives with similar contractual guarantees.

Good that he is retaining his base like Le Batard did with his podcast:

People having to actively seek him out would mean bouncing back much more slowly, at least as far as The Right Time is concerned.

This is good to hear

What I didn't know was that Bo's show was their second highest rated podcast

I like Dominique, but it always seemed like he was groomed to be Bo's "replacement".

I think the main issue was that Bo was too smart for ESPN, and it would have been harder to fit him in going on Get Up, First Take and the gauntlet after having his own show.

Keeping the Podcast....Seems they learned from Bill Simmons creating everything for ESPN and leaving with nothing and having to start over...

^^^

I still need confirmation completely gone

He COULD get that Pablo deal?
