TARIQ NASHEED vs ROLAND MARTIN

I'm listening to Luke's space. Tariq has joined. He said he is going to DC but he doesn't plan on meeting with any of the elected officals. There is a stragetist from FL who recommended speaking with them. She gave them a list of data for Florida for what polling says they care about: housing, insurance costs, food etc. She told him that reparations and what is on his agenda isn't on the radar of politicians. She is trying to tell him how to get his issues addressed. She has the data that they are working with. He said they already know and he isn't meeting with any of then. SMH.

Then earlier he had said we shouldn't need to have superpacs etc. Then went on to complain about lgbt folks getting "tangibles" who have superpacs and harass congress and keep their issues in their face every chance they get. SMH. Dude makes no sense.

We don't need to lobby elected officials to get tangibles. All we need to do is buy his next DVD and complain on Twitter about how we're not getting tangibles.

About a couple summers ago there was vid footage posted here of Tariq filming a selfie of himself walking through the Dupont Circle (famous gay hangout area) in D.C while wearing a see-through shirt. In the same footage, a random guy follows Tariq trying to holla. Then the footage cuts off.

I can confirm as a DC resident a grown black man should not be walking in Dupont Circle if you are not with the rainbow.....

When questioned why was he in that particular area of D.C., he said he was touring the area and wasn't aware that Dupont Circle was known for that. In that footage, the guy following him was either trying to holla or ask "how much?". Riq can be heard asking him to stop following shortly before the footage ends.

I couldn't make out what the random dude was saying but he was definitely following Tariq. That see thru shirt may have sparked that RANDOM's attention  :roflmao:

I don't really care for Tariq, and I'm not convinced his work around FBA/reparations is coming from a pure motive vs trying to keep his listeners engaged in a topic that people can be made to feel passionate about, but after listening to that Luke space last night, I just feel sorry for him now. If he is sincere, or even if he isn't but wants to be taken seriously, he is sabotaging himself and he doesn't even see it. It was basically pointed out to him last night, and he doesn't see it. I don't think he has the wisdom or maturity to take the criticism and adjust accordingly. He is too busy being defensive. I don't think this ends well. If reparations is going to be carried across the finish line, I don't think it will be Tariq or Yvette/Tone etc who will be the ones to do it.

His followers are all over the place. Now only black folks in America are black. I saw more than one person saying something similar.

I can't find the tweet I wanted. This one woman was going on about how she is fba and therefore black and others not descended from slaves in the US couldn't be black, they were Jamaican etc. and that "black" was a designation given to us etc. Then one guy asked her who gave her that designation. LOL. I didn't see a reply but I was hoping she had responded and I can't find it now.

All this nonsense is just sowing division and keeping black folks across various cultures arguing so the agenda is never achieved. I never bought the line that Tariq was a paid agent, but seeing the results, he may as well be.

That kinda reminds me of time when one day I went to this cookout. A female coworker later enters with her guy date (at the time) who was wearing a see thru shirt. I don’t know about y’all, but whenever I hear the word “tangible”, I immediately know the type of person I’m going to be dealing with.

Fair enough
But it was cap, when the lady said politicians don't know what Black people want.
That's a blatant lie. And I'm glad TN checked her for that.

Also is Luke slow? Had a stroke maybe?

So I really like that Stephen Hunter guy, but he and some others are trying to get FBA classified as a hate group. I don't know if he is spear heading it, but I saw the petition on his and other folks page. He said FBA was a hate group and gave the definition.

Now mind you, Tariq has said folks in congress and the DNC know who he is, that they keep tabs on him and get reports on him. At one point Luke asked how long he had been doing this, Luke thought it had been five years or so, Tariq said it was about 10 years or so. Luke basically asked him how he thought he was going to get people on board with his agenda, if he is calling them names and insulting them etc. Tariq said a lot of the language and rhetoric he uses is for online, twitter spaces etc. That when he actually meets with someone he knows the proper decorum and is professional etc.

Now I ask you, if these people are "getting reports" on him, would they not know that he called them everything but a child of God? Tariq had said he wasn't going to meet with anyone when he goes to DC. Stephen told him that they WON'T meet with him because they don't want to be affiliated with a hate group. Stephen has a point. Tariq is tarnishing his own brand. They can't take him seriously or amplify him, even if they wanted to, because of well documented hate comments and videos featuring Tariq and his followers. Tariq wants to keep his pimp persona/ street cred at the same time he wants to be a major player in influencing politics. His rhetoric is too toxic for that. He also took credit for Hillary losing. Stephen went on to say how FBA is mimicking and operating like white supremacy, but instead of white vs black, its fba vs other black cultures. After I thought about it, he's right about that, too. Just like we had "good boys/nwords" and "rowdy nwords/trouble makers" they are trying to classify folks who aren't DOAS as tethered/untethered. I still don't have the full definition of what tethered/untethered is, but tethered is apparently the rowdy n-words. The Dems are not like the GOP. They won't accept a Trump like figure who insults everyone. Tariq may be able to be used to call folks to action, but I can't see someone wanting to share a stage with him.

At one point Luke had to tell folks to stop calling each other Bitches. This one lady said she grew up on his music...lol...and basically blamed it on him. Luke...LUKE...has enough sense to know even on social media when you are trying to engage folks that name calling etc is not a productive means to do so.

I felt so sad after listening to this. The rhetoric against other black cultures is what turned me off and I am ADOS/DOAS, but they lack soooooo much self awareness in how they are perceived. Tariq and the rest will grow old and bitter talking about the system or the man held them back, or denied them what they want, not realizing they did it to themselves.

Someone said he only started FBA to compete with Tone and Yvette. That has the ring of truth to it and I can see him doing exactly that if he felt they were cutting into his audience.

The division was already there. It just that ADOS/FBA or whatever were the ones who constantly tried to make those from Africa and others in the African Dispora as one. Yet people have continually separated themselves from African Americans by their language (Latin) and their parents or their former homeland (Jamaican, Trini, Haitian, etc......
I have no hate for those folks but if they are focusing on themselves. Then why shouldn't ADOS/FDA or whatever focus on ourselves?

The division has been there for quite some time, and that is in part due to white supremacy not wanting to see black peoples unite. Our image was exported as being lazy etc. Other groups would come here and be warned about us. Kids here would tease black immigrants about their accent etc. I recall kids calling others African Booty Scratchers. The stuff of ignorance. Most people saw for themselves what was going on or grew up and grew out of the nonsense and had friendships and relationships with each other. There is nothing wrong with distinguishing our lineage, but do we have to demonize other black peoples to do it? Its like the different connotations between Black Power and White Power. When we hear Black Power, we automatically know its about black excellence and collective advancement, achievement and White Power is about prevailing via the terror and oppression of others. They are basically in the process of changing the dynamic to align more with White Power.

Here's what I can tell you. Kids are cruel and they tease people about all kinds of shit (regardless of one's background).
We can't Blame everything on White people. This shit is on autopilot and white folks ain't forcing the separation. People are doing it on their own. That's what happens when a group grows in numbers. So if everybody is looking out for their groups best interest. Then it's time that we ADOS/FBA or whatever Lookout for our interest until other groups are ready to unite.

The issue about politicians not knowing what we want is BS. It's bs because The Kerner commission said that the politicians should never promise Black people anything. This was in the 60s. The DNC leak continued saying NOT to promise and do shit for Black people in 2016. So they purposefully walk around blind lol.

HR40 has been around for 30 years.
It's not a reparations bill.
Its just a study.
