Damn, and we're supposed to switch UnitedHealthcare at the beginning of the year.

My mothafucking premiums better not go up!

Oh yeah, RIP

I've got to re-up my insurance soon.

Anyone have any recommendations other than United?
I won’t lie, Aetna came through for me. They might be considered one of the ones with a higher denial rate, but my package covered mostly everything last year when I had a tumor removed. Surgery, anesthesia, hospital stay, therapy, treatment. All covered.

I have nothing but praise for them personally.

That's wassup. Glad to hear Aetna came through for you with your health coverage.

I've got Pacific Blue Cross provided by my employer. No concerns thus far.

“They seem to have no shame in taking IP, trade secrets or patents,” Kiani said.

These are type of things that can contribute to CEOs being killed like this. I don't condone violence but damn, why did these fools have to poke the bear? Nobody wants to spend time in court playing lawyer.

No concerns if your a relatively healthy individual.

We always say you don’t find out how bad your coverage is until you really need it.

Carry on……

Exactly.

And one of the best things to do is read over the paperwork every now and again to familiarize yourself, or browse on the insurer's website.

I've done that a few times in recent years when looking over how they break down regular dental visits.

Or if you travel ... look over what type of insurance they provide already, or what's available.

My mom's older sister, and niece's husband have each had hospitalizations when travelling internationally over the past decade. Mom's sister broke her leg and hip on a fall. What a shit show that became in Spain. The niece's husband had a fall in Thailand last year and broke his arm.

Well, the hitman needs to go back to hitman school cause that was a bit of a clumsy hit.

Fumbling w/ the gun, shot dude in the back. That wasn't clean at all!

Why have a suppressor if you're just going to shoot the dude right in front of a business?!

BTW...Anyone can get a suppressor.
rewatch the video; he didnt fumble the gun; the gun jammed!!!! so see how calm and smooth he unjammed it; and yes he came from the back so the 1st shot was in the back; but he emptied the clip in him; that was very professional...

That's great to hear. Glad your health is intact.

Yeah - thankfully not looking for insurance.

The Pacific Blue Cross provided through my employer is at no cost.

Mid-40s now. I'd like to retire at 50 ... but I'll probably just work until 58 - 60 to max out the MPP (municipal pension plan). 20 years with the company as of this past spring. Was doing oncall and PT for the first handful of years, but FT since 2010. Working in the field I've dealt with 2 other unions as well (HEU and HSA) but I've been happiest with GEU.

Ooh ok my bad, I musta misread, I thought you said you were shopping for a new plan.

But yea that’s a sound exit strategy. We gotta enjoy life too while we still got it. More health and blessings to you and yours for sure.

Thank you kindly, and to you & your family as well.

Yeah - I was just making a cold street-type comment regarding looking for insurance given the thread.

Regarding work ... yeah ... it's that work-life balance. I've mentioned to a few coworkers it's probably wise to get out sooner as they've played their cards right and are set up well in life. No debt to their names (a few pushing 60yo). Their finances are all in good order, etc.

Regarding family ... my dad's mom passed at 81, and what always fucked her up was losing her younger brother at 58yo in early-1997. He worked 40 years for the telephone company and passed a month after retiring. Healthy guy. Overexerted himself and had a pre-existing heart condition. 1st pension check came in the mail for his wife and college-aged son soon thereafter.

Grandma always thought to herself - "My baby bro ... took care of himself all his life. Never overindulged. And he's gone in his late-50s."

Whereas she travelled more, NEVER exercised & ate a garbage diet and outlived him by 23 years (while also having a heart attack & a few strokes along the way). She worked 32 - 33 years part-time for the post office.

As for my folks ... pops retired after 34 years with the fire department at age 59 or so. Mom retired in her early-60s from doing RN / RPN work for 30+ years. She did a little bit of oncall work for another work location once retired, but was like - "Nah, I don't need that kind of stress still ..."

Hell to the naw it aint
These insurance companies be on some other shit
Whoever smoked them had a good reason
When you sit and think about how most of these higher ups don't consider how their practices and policies impact real people. Only their shareholders bottom line......... Given what the economy, wealth gap, and health-care system could look like in the next couple of years......... This may not be a one off.

On the real I was on United Health insurance through my job in the early 2000's. It was like $300 a month. The co-pay was 40 for doctors visit, 60 for a specialist, and 100 for emergency room. I only paid $200 for the birth of my son and daughter. They changed that shit around George Bush years and made insurance expensive as hell.
