Yeah I liked the movie but they could've went another route with the villain. That character actually wasn't bad but making her the villain was damn near equivalent to making Captan Boomersng the villain lol.

See. I still haven't even googled captain boomerang... I don't even remember the villain's name... Still enjoyed the movie, but damn they dropped the ball.

Lol bgol is tripping. The movie was great. I went with several people, we all enjoyed it. I am a Marvel reader, not necessarily a DC fan so i don't know how "true" the characters were. But if you're not caught up on that sort of thing then it was a great movie

Ok I just looked at the concept for "Don't Breathe".. It's going to make some money. That might just be Suicide Squads true competition. So I'm going to stick with 230 domestic.

the movie is for from great people, the movie is flawed and choppy.
SS is ok to slightly above average, the movie doesnt feel like the same universe as BVS crap
the flash cameo was hella weak..
It is definitely better than BVS

It's not bad movie if it wasn't tied into the DC universe. They saving world.......nah. Flash, Batman and the other superheros Should have been doing that smh. They should have been on a low key mission or something.

I'm just going to drop this right here.... Another Midnight's Edge Classic.

Yeah it's not getting $750 Million, but these critics are smoking that Kosher Kush if they think this movie is fucking worse then Catwoman and Jonah Hex.

I didn't mind Enchantress, but of course she could have been done better. Like Mello Mello said earlier, she was actually too big of a threat for a first outing of the newly-formed Task Force X. Enchantress could give Superman a lot of trouble (due to his susceptibility to magic) so of course she could roll the Suicide Squad!

I think it would have been better to not have the Suicide Squad go against a "World threat". Could have kept it to a villain that had a dirty bomb in the city or something along that scale.

I actually liked Enchantress look better when she was shadow-like with the glowing eyes. When she pulled the blades out and got down to ground level fighting that was the look right there:yes:

 They could have done a whole lot more with Captain Boomerang. But I guess this was better than the racist/sexist asshole they said he was going to be at first, and then decided to make him more of a background player. Damn at the least they could have had him throw more than 2 boomerangs!

I'm not w comic reader so I don't know what she is depicted in the comic but on screen all she did was generate zombies. I didn't hate her as a character I just hated her as a villain. I don't mind them fighting world threats because I feel at some point they are going to be in a tie in movie with Batman or Superman.i can't ever see Guardians of Galaxy in a universe with Avengers.

I fucking went to see it.

I wasn't trying to go but a girl I been fucking with recently wanted to chill.

Fucked, ate, went to movies. Just dropped her off.

I wanted to see Lights Out but there wasn't anymore shows after the 9:00 wtf!

But they had suicide squad on 4 screens including 3D. :hmm:

I was waiting for that BGOL Hollywood hook up. Now I done spent my money on this movie and the shit was dull.

End rant now let me get to this review.

----------Review May Contain Spoilers----------

Let me get the lil bits of good out first before I thrash this piece of shit from DC.

DeadShot was the man. Will did his thing with the character. Ya know typical Will, not a whole lot of emotion but he delivers the best lines of dialogue of all the characters. He is like the leader of the suicide squad. I like his backstory as well. Fuck Batman for taking a good dad away from his daughter, Bruce Wayne should know better.

Harley Quinn was ok. She provided the typical eye candy for the movie. Dress skimpy and look cute provide a lil sexual innuendo through dialogue. I expected a more twisted charm from her but barely got that, she looked the part tho.

Joker looked every bit of the cool rock star villain. No personality but he had style. Everyone will be him and Harley Quinn this Halloween.

Viola Davis as Amanda Waller was decent. I personally wish they would ratcheted up the bitch factor for her character and made her more of a hard ass but she played her role well.

I didn't like how they described and depicted Croc. You'll see what I mean. The subliminals are obvious but I guess we're suppose to ignore them cuz at least we got DeadShot. But I liked how they made him look, just hard to deliver his lines through all that makeup.

All the character had style I guess to make up what they were lacking in substance and personality in the story.

The movie was entertaining if you are easily impressed and starving for excitement. But if your like me and kinda jaded by all these action movies and their simple tricks and had high expectations it will do what others didn't you'll be extremely disappointed.

I believe in great action and great story with great characters. I don't believe you have to sacrifice one for the other. I don't believe this is a lot to ask.

If you want to see something to pass the time Suicide Squad will serve that purpose. If your looking for action that stays true to comic that can deliver thrills competing with Marvels line up, keep your money in your wallet.

Note.

This movie sucked big blue donkey balls.

I'm pissed, 1 I paid for this shit 2 it's an extremely underwhelming movie.

It was pretty stale and generic. Same gags and reel jokes you've seen a thousand times from team up buddy flicks vs bad guys. The character archetypes were too cliche. You know the quirks, the crazy one, the hot shot, the brute, the monster, the magical one, the uptight hard ass, the shy but extremely deadly one and the cliche Japanese samurai. :hmm: I mean there is a way to do cliche w/o it feeling cliche, c'mon.

I don't know why the executives insist on fucking with the story and characters as if they know what the fuck they are doing. Stay the fuck out of the creative process!

Nothing about this movie came close to feeling suicidal. They should have stuck closer to the storyline from the animation. You can't assemble a suicide squad for a save the world disaster.

It doesn't fit the characters abilities nor sense of humor. You can't shoot up a magical demon, you can't blow up a magical demon, you can't beat a magical demon with a mallet or bat. Especially one who turns whoever it touches into pimple monsters. :hmm: Why would such a demon show respect to the suicide squad and fight them like an equal instead of just wiping them out. (I know I know I'm suppose to suspend disbelief) :hmm:

BTW during all of a that, where the fuck was the justice league? Batman, Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman. It's like, "Oh we're just gonna sit out on this world disaster it's the weekend. The United States government and the suicide squad can handle extreme threats to humanity alone, a lot better than we can." Ijs they acting like its a connected universe.

Suicide squad needed a more down to earth mission. One that highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of each character, where we can really see why they are an assest to the team and Amanda Waller and for the audiences entertainment, some character they can warm up too.

They had all these special skills but all they really did was punch, kick, shoot a bunch of magical baddies, nothing really cool or impressive about it. I expected DeadShot to be doing some fancy trick shots that appear impossible to make to rescue the team. Harley Quin to do some absolutely crazy on the edge of your seat death defying stunt. Croc to do something superior disgusting and/or bad ass. Boomerang to do some tricky shot. The only character that barely made a memorable impression was DeadShot. Deadhsot is the lead in this movie btw but you can tell they didn't want him to be. What I mean is Harely Quinn and Joker romance felt like it was competing or interfering with the screentime with the flashbacks.

Also why they gotta kill my man Common like that? Black lives don't matter. Typical Hollywood bring a nigga in just to kill him off. That scene was for the white boys who hate feeling cuckold by black men. lol just my opinion.

Someone mentioned the editing is poor in this movie and they were correct. Someone doesn't know how to make transitions. They just copy and pasted scene together.

I have more criticism but I've already typed a lot. This is what DC get rushing through things. This movie was way worse than BvS. Looks like they made some of the same type of mistakes tho. How long are we suppose to allow them to keep selling us shit? The packaging is always so much better than the product. :smh:

My man. I agree with everything you typed. I enjoyed it because I went into it with no expectations, and it held my attention. But the plot holes, lack or character development, and quality writing when you have so mucj subject matter to work with is just lazy IMO. They do this with most superhero movies though so I won't come down on them for it. It was just entertainment. Not a great movie, just... Entertaining.

Box Office: 'Suicide Squad' Tops $500 Million Worldwide
suicide-squad-joker-harley-quinn-jared-leto-margot-robbie-1200x801.jpg

The late summer smash Suicide Squad earned another $4.125 million on Wednesday for a new $238.002m domestic cume. That comes on top of a $5m Monday and a $6.233m Tuesday. Those weekday figures are a touch below the respective second Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday grosses for Guardians of the Galaxy ($5.3m/$6.6m/$4.8m). Taking into account that both opened in the school year, the respective 11/12/13 day grosses are above Captain America: Civil War and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The David Ayer film has consistently posted solid weekday numbers even as it tumbled over the course of its first two big weekends. So if you’re wondering why the studios still treat the summer season as prime real estate, that’s partially why. With $238 million domestic in thirteen days, the film has now surpassed the domestic total (not adjusted for inflation or 3D bumps) of every X-Men movie outside of Deadpool.

It is 21st among the top comic book/superhero movies (again, counting The Matrix Reloaded‘s $271 million domestic cume) and will probably (emphasis on “probably”) end up 15th on the list between Man of Steel ($291m) and Iron Man 2 ($312m). If it makes it there, it’ll be the fifth-biggest non-sequel comic book superhero movie behind Iron Man ($318 million), Guardians of the Galaxy ($333m), Deadpool ($362m) and Spider-Man ($403m).

The bad news, to the extent that it matters, is that it will likely end its run as one of the least leggy August openers in history. If it makes it to $305 million, it will be among the top twenty most frontloaded August releases ever (think Kick-Ass 2 or Fantastic Four). And the film has earned $271 million overseas as well, bringing its worldwide cume to $509m in just over two weeks of global release.

I don’t know whether or not it will stall at $600 million or take a shot at $650m (it’s all about legs in the next two weeks), but I will still argue that an over/under $600m total for Suicide Squad was as good a result as one could have hoped for. Whatever issuesSuicide Squad brings about for the long term health of the DC Films universe are rooted in quality and the way in which it was made. It’s still a huge hit and will be one of Will Smith’s biggest grossers ever.

But putting all that aside for a moment, Suicide Squad was never going to be an $800 million+ blockbuster, and the fact that Deadpool overperformed shouldn’t be held against this title. This actual result for the $175m-budgeted Will Smith/Margot Robbie/Viola Davis/Jared Leto picture, regardless of legs and word-of-mouth, counts as a win for Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc. and the DC Films franchise.

Suicide Squad Made $500 Million in 13 Days, Expected to Be No. 1 Again This Weekend
Despite poor reviews, Suicide Squad continues to impress at the box office.
Last updated by Eddie Makuch on August 18, 2016

Suicide Squad has now raked in more than $500 million worldwide. Deadline reports that as of today, August 18, the film has pulled in $509 million, taking only 13 days to hit the half-billion mark. That's right around the same amount of time it took Deadpool to make that much money.

The movie is already the highest-grossing August film in US history, outpacing Guardians of the Galaxy, which was the previous record-holder for the month. It's also the No. 11 movie of the year on a global basis and is expected to climb up a few spots this coming weekend.

Suicide Squad is performing better internationally than in the US, having made $271 million overseas and $238 million domestically.

Deadline reports the film is likely to remain the No. 1 movie at the US and international box offices this weekend. If it does that in the US, it would become only the fifth movie this year to stay on top for three consecutive weekends, following Deadpool, Zootopia, The Jungle Book, and Finding Dory. Suicide Squad goes up against new movies this weekend like War Dogs and Ben-Hur.

Suicide Squad has yet to open in Japan and Germany, while it is not likely to be released in the major market of China.

The movie's box office success comes despite a tepid critical reception from critics. According to a Suicide Squad comics writer, some critics came to their screenings prepared to hate it.

Suicide Squad was directed by Fury's David Ayer and stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Joel Kinnaman, and Viola Davis. It follows a group of supervillains recruited by the US government for a mission in exchange for reduced prison sentences.

Leto, the Oscar-winner who plays The Joker, has spoken about how many of his scenes did not make it into the final cut. Enough material was apparently left on the cutting room floor to fill an entire Joker movie. Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn, recently talked about why she thinks so many Joker scenes were cut.

Suicide squad was slightly underwhelming. The old joker set the bar so high that it was hard to follow up. The Bulls are still looking for the next Pip and Jordan. Too many characters to squeeze into the movie. Should have been a Joker and Harley movie.

I still haven't watched this film. Forgot about it, now I don't even care to. Is it even worth spending a few hours on?
