good to have you back fam...

honestly this is all VERY suspicious to me

I can't lie I did hear bad things way early and the last minute addtions had me leery

but to just SH*T on the movie like this?

after the GARBAGE that has been released the last few months?

I'm gonna wait and see this for myself.

I don't see Will Smith letting this get THAT bad and the director is MORE than good.

I am actually gonna do something I didn't even do for BvS or Civil War...

I'm gonna go see this over the weekend.

Still going to see it.....but.....this is not a good look....

Reminds me of the BvS reaction...

THIS
When I see reviews going in on the same faults or production issues that I was worried about, it does make me pause.

Kinda like what LSN said about BvS you don't want to go see a movie that you know is going to waste your time.

Than when critics and early reviews are going in on stuff you already was side eyeing :smh:

Now you know I've never been one to defer to others thoughts or opinions. If the movie is bad then I will call it out but until then I don't align just to align. Never have and never ever ever will!
you still in argenDC?

Still going to see it and judge for myself. I aint worried about the same critics that gave iron man 2 and 3 good reviews or some shit like sharknado a high score, BvS wasn't the total abomination that it was made out to be, only Lex was:roflmao2:

you cannot compare Suicide Squad and ghostbusters because they are two different genres.

If a so called reviewer isn't able to differentiate between genres and judge each individual film by its own merits?

They ain't about Sh*t to begin with.

Suicide Squad Fans Petition To Shut Down Rotten Tomatoes After 'Unfair' Movie Reviews

03-suicide-squad.w529.h529.jpg

Move over Batman, there's a new team of vigilantes fighting for DC Comics' universe — no, not Suicide Squad, it's Suicide Squad's internet fans. On Tuesday, comic book-enthusiastics banned together to sign a petition against Rotten Tomatoes after the review aggregator posted a mere 36%approval rating of the movie. This approval rating, or "tomatometer" means that, of the 64 reviews currently collected by the site only that percentage of critics gave it a positive response. It should be noted that the reviews gathered come from widely-read publications and media outlets, and are not just generated by some dude sitting behind a computer who calls himself "Rotten Tom Ato."

Despite the negative rating not necessarily being a reflection of that website's opinion of the film, one fan, Abdullah Coldwater of Alexandria, Egypt, took to change.com to demand Rotten Tomatoes end its review sharing ways. The petition is short and direct: "We need this site to be shut down, because it's [sic] critics always give the DC Extended Universe movies unjust bad reviews" and adding, "that affects people's opinion even if it's a really great movies [sic]." As of this post being published, 4,874 caped-by-internet-anonymity crusaders have signed the petition in defense of the film that has not yet opened to the general public.

Its hard to compare Ghostbusters when people were honestly afraid to give it bad reviews. Sony's girl power plan worked. And some liked it because they went in thinking it would be the worst movie ever created unfortunately.

BvS fooled me once. I am not going to the theater to see SS. I will wait on BGOL movie night.

I'm getting to that point.

When PoS came out (yes, that is what I call it - Piece of Shit) people were online saying the tone of SS was going to be different. That it was going to be a different direction. I was excited. Right now...*shakes head*

I never thought the acting would be a problem. From a lot of these reviews, it isn't. If anything I thought the script would be the problem but it seems to be a combo of that, the director, and editing. Which can totally KILL a movie, (Catwoman), into oblivion. As always I want to watch it to make my own opinion, I'm not going to jump on no ones bandwagon and say it's horrible or great and haven't done my part. But the want to watch...it's leaving me...

And Ghostbusters was not bad. As a movie it might (maybe) be a better movie than SS. From the reviews SS isn't coherent. I can at least say Ghostbusters had a coherent story that flowed. Let's wait and see if SS can say the same thing.

It ain't hard to compare it. The movie was good. It wasn't great, but it by far was not bad. It was middle of the road 'good'.

Hell maybe I should start doing some 'honest' reviews around here. I could care less if the cast was all female or mixed or like the original. If it's a good movie, it's good. And OAN I don't want to hear any of this bull about having to know about SS to properly critique the film. That's horseshit. I'll say it again: if it's a good movie, it's good.

Not comparing the movie I'm saying but the circumstances around it. Sony made you a woman hater if you didnt go see it. The internet complaints made it the worst thing ever so when the casual crowd saw it, it wasn't so bad. You expected to be shot but you got punched in the face if you get what I'm saying. And you had the super feminist supporting it no matter what. I think all of that kind of results in the high scores and the money it made so far. Controversy sells.

I saw it a few days ago. There's a spot where one character retells something that you saw happen and describes it entirely differently, and one other plot motivator that made me say WTF but it's a decent film. I think people hating it expect to come in liking most of the characters, but they are criminals, it's not going to happen for every one. Blockbuster film of the summer? No, but easily one of the better ones due to all the other crap this summer.

So suicide squad wasn't that bad. I actually really liked it and I went in expecting to hate it. Yes, It could have been better, but it definitely could have been worse. Unlike most people, I didn't care for the beginning introduction. It definitely felt like it was added during the reshoots to incorporate more Batman.

In fact, I feel like Warner Brothers fell into the same trap again. They continue to overly rely on Batman. All the scenes with either Joker or Batman felt tagged on to me. The movie works much better when it just focuses on the redemption story.

I loved the middle and third acts of the film. This is also one of my favorite roles for Will Smith. I thought Jay Hernandez was amazing. I even like Jai Courtney and I haven't liked him since Spartacus. I would actually look forward to a sequel but next time they need to move away from having to mention Batman or the Bat, or Gotham city.... Every 5 minutes.

I give it a 8 out of 10.
