Memphis was doing young shit. This was the game they were supposed to win. All that ended with 45 seconds left.
I have to put this on the coach for not drawing up any plays in the final minute. He should have called a timeout and gotten some better shots from his players. Memphis' bad shots attempts lead to better opportunities for the Warriors.
Also, for the last 5 minutes of the game, Tyus Jones damn near had an 8 seconds violation every time he walked the ball up the court.
Jenkins got some learning to do as well. In these moments, coaches have to shine and you have to HELP your young players make better decisions. Even if the outcome is the same.
I'm torn on Memphis right now. One the one hand, I have to question the coaching decision to not call a time out. I think they had two time outs left before Jackson threw up that trash three that Draymond blocked. A more seasoned head coach wouldn't have left a young team out there to make it up on the spot. They should have called time and went for the easy two.
On the other hand, as a fan, I sick of these games taking forever to end. Between time out commercial breaks, play review breaks, and fouls, the last 2 minutes of regulation can sometimes last more than 10 real world minutes. As a fan, I love the game when teams just go for it on the fly and the pace of the game is unbroken.
