Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane let loose with a bit of bulletin board material on Thursday when he said that he doesn’t think Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski isn’t that good.
Lane went on to say that he thought Gronkowski was an “OK” player that the Seahawks could take out of the game by being physical with him. As you’d imagine, Lane’s comments have made their way to Gronkowski.
Gronkowski said Friday, via Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, that “everyone is entitled to their own opinion” before being asked if Lane’s opinion ticked him off.
“It may,” Gronkowski said.
Gronkowski was also asked if he was amused by Lane, who is 6-0 and 190 pounds to Gronkowski’s 6-6 and 255 pounds, saying that he was going to be physical a week from Sunday. Gronkowski didn’t add any fuel to the fire, saying “it is what it is,” but it’s a safe bet that the Patriots will test Lane’s theory on slowing their tight end early and often in Arizona next weekend.
