40 acres = .0625 square miles.
4.5 million X .0625 = 281,250 square miles.

What does 281,250 square miles look like???

The state of Texas is 268,596 square miles.
The country of Zambia is 290,585 square miles
The country of Ukraine is 233,032 square miles
The country of France is 210,017 square miles.

So basically, the US owed the newly freed Blacks land that would collectively equal the whole state of Texas with 12,654 square miles left over.

The path to reparations is the same path we took to gain civil rights. It takes a coordinated combination of local activism with a cohesive legislative and legal strategy. Without Thurgood marshall all the marches on washington would not have resulted in a civil rights act. We need one or two laws allowing people to sue for slavery. Then we need to win some cases on a district level and defend them on a federal level. Then we can get federal legislation. Once it's ingrained it would take decades to wrestle it away.

That's why it was so clear to me the FBA bullshit was bullshit. There was no cohesive legal, legislative or activist strategy. There only strategy was don't vote democrat. I knew they weren't serious.

But at this point we got to protect the wins we already have. To your point affirmative action is under attack. Racism and discrimination are becoming legal again and with the dissolving of the federal government we lose all the protections that come with it. What people don't realize is that without a federal government some states would still have slavery. What stops states from disenfranchising the black vote, housing discrimination, education discrimination on a state level. HUD, the Department of Education and Election laws. Do we not remember Jim Crow. Jim Crow was in action because of state laws without having federal protection.
