That whole plan she had was just as stupid as the plan she had to go into Negans compound BY HERSELF to kill him. So she planned to take the pill and be turned by the time they got to Alexandria so when Negan opened the casket she could jump out and bite him, the shit failed but what if Negan wouldn't even have been the one to open the casket, what if Eugene had opened it a lil earlier to check on her? I've hated this whole Negan arc, i don't like the Negan character and i don't like how they made Rick look like a bitch. look at this shit

her original plan was to get a blade from eugene and handle negan when he came back in the cell. eugene came back with a pill.

her second plan was to sacrifice herself w/ the pill so that negan couldnt use her in whatever plan he was executing.

her being dead when he opened the casket allowed rick & co to do whatever they had to do to save themselves, instead of making more submissive bitch moves based on negan always having the upperhand. it didnt matter who opened the casket.

through all that she made the biggest coward on the show into a hero. thats why she said she wasnt giving up on him.

if it werent for eugene making her the pill, rick and the squad would be back under negans control and negan woulda killed 1-2 more of ricks ppl w/ lucille.

She took it when she realized it was her only viable option out. Her plan was to kill Negan.. Once in the coffin and realizing she was gonna be used to leverage the group or killed, she used it to go out on her terms.. And again, no one is giving her credit for planning it exactly how it went.. We are explaining why she did what she did.

The Garbage Pail Kids probably killed everyone that spoke in complete sentences to keep their people on code. It's hard to object when you don't have the language for it. That syntax also allows them to communicate efficiently under attack. It's hard to misunderstand orders when everyone talks like a German Shepard. That's also how they were able to betray the Alexandrians the way they did without anyone in the group or even Negan's group speaking one word about it.

IMO Rick's biggest flaw was assuming that the Garbage Pail Kids had the same motivations for killing the Saviors as everyone else. Until last night there was no sign that they were even on Negan's radar.
