I watched the last two episodes of season 10 this afternoon.

Episode 21 was just a basic character development episode around Carol and Daryl. It just basically continued the sub plot of those two relationship with each.

It's still not clear if they are in love with each other, have a brother/sister or mother/son relationship between each other.

The season finale. This episode in my opinion is the best episode since Negan made his debut.

The episode deals with Negan's backstory prior to the apocalypse and the days after it started. We also are introduced to his wife Lucille and see the person she was and his relationship with her.

Not going to give anything away, but his past is not what you would expect. I busted out laughing in one scene. It was the one when Lucille goes into the basement to confront him in the point in time prior to the apocalypse.

The episode goes in-depth on his personality back in the day, the origin of the leather jacket and bat and how he developed his iconic personality in the past seasons from his debut.

If you have not watched the series in awhile. This is definitely a must see episode.

One more season which will be the last.

No word yet if the producers plan on filming in Georgia due to Georgia's recently extreme voter suppression laws they just put into effect.

Yeah that was a great episode. Seeing where Negan came from was very interesting

The Walking Dead reveals comic book favorite Mercer in new season 11 teaser

See Michael James Shaw in character as this pivotal figure from the comics.

The Walking Dead is on a non-stop collision course for its season 11 premiere on Aug. 22, and the promotional train has brought us a new teaser for the impending final season story, complete with a first official look at comic book character Mercer.
Actor Michael James Shaw joins the cast as this figure, who's the chief officer of the soldiers of The Commonwealth, the technologically advanced (for the apocalypse, at least) network of colonies that will be introduced in season 11. The extended season 10 episodes brought some of the grunt militiamen dressed in white armor, but Mercer stands out from the crowd with his red ensemble.

Mercer's inclusion in the teaser, which also highlights folks like Norman Reedus' Daryl, Lauren Cohan's Maggie, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan, and Melissa McBride's Carol, hints at the character's prominence for this last 22-episode chapter.

The new promo is part of "11 weeks of reveals" leading up to the season 11 premiere, according to AMC.
EW previously unveiled the first look at season 11 with a batch of photos, and showrunner Angela Kang teased there will be "tons of zombies and lots of action and fun and intrigue, and locations we've never seen."
"We'll be dealing with the new group that our foursome of Eugene, Ezekiel, Princess, and Yumiko ran across and that starts to open up their world in bigger and unexpected ways," she said, referencing the Commonwealth. "Then of course we've got to see that Connie is still alive at the end of episode 16, so we still got that thread out there to deal with. We've got some great stories at Alexandria, as they're dealing with the aftermath of this Whisperer war and things start to amp up even further. Then it all keeps rolling from there."

Final Season Official Trailer

The last part of the trailer has me very interested cuz it looks like we will be getting some good information on the Circle Republic.

After Rick got taken away in a helicopter.... I figured that he'd be coming back.... they just gonna leave it hanging with him? :dunno:

Rick Grimes will be starring in his own movie that will be released in theaters in 2022 or 2023. They plan to start filming later this summer or later this year.

This show is in its last season, “Fear The Walking Dead” is close to ending and “Walking Dead: World Beyond” starts its final season in October.

The plan is to bring all the shows together for a “MCU” finale with Rick being the main character and leader.

The producers of Walking Dead met last year with Kevin Feige on advise and tips on turning the Walking Dead franchise into a “MCU”.

I stopped watching after Rick "died"...

I got a WHOLE lot of catching up to do.

Is it worth it?

If you want to be up to speed when the future movie(s) come out, it’s best to watch.

Lots of changes have happened to the characters over the past two seasons.

It will be like watching Avengers Endgame without watching the 3 movies prior to it.

I recently caught up after losing interest midway through the whisperers arc. The two things that were highly annoying to me in Season's 8 and 9 (a)The unexplainable super genius of Alpha and Beta and (b) keep Negan's around for so long ; were both resolved in Season 10. So they got me for the final season at this point.

Characters still do stupid stuff at times, but less than in earlier seasons. Also I'm glad the writers/directors stopped filming these scenes where 1 or 2 people are walking through a relatively open area and within seconds they are surrounded by Walkers in all directions. Like there's no way that should be still be happening 7+ years into this

Watched the season premiere this morning.

It has done a complete 180 in story and how its playing out. It's looking like the final season is not going to be doing what its has been doing for the past 3 season's with them dealing with their emotions, feelings and relationships.

The vibe of this premiere is similar to how the series started.

Eugene and the group is with the Commonwealth people. They are the ones we saw in the season finale dressed like Imperial Stormtroopers. Their debut is interesting.

Maggie gave her story on what happened with her when she was gone for a couple of seasons.

Daryl, Maggie and the group are out trying to get supplies to save Alexandria. Good suspense and action like from the early seasons.

If you plan on getting back into the show, you have missed a lot dealing with character development. The characters are completely different from how things played out back when Neagan was running around with Sanctuary.

Binged where I left off from a while back (after they captured Negan). Daryll, Maggie and Carol are still unstoppable I see. The stormtrooper arc is corny. Dude sitting there in a suit and tie. Princess is cool.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond season 2 is directed entirely by women
"Equity was a big part of the decision-making," says showrunner Matt Negrete of the all-female team that helmed the series' 10 episodes.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond
WATCH IT NOW ON Philo, fuboTV, AMC, and more options
The Walking Dead: World Beyond returns Sunday night to AMC, and the second season of the zombie spin-off is notable because it is also its last. How showrunner Matt Negrete and co-creator Scott M. Gimple wrap up the series while also propelling the rest of The Walking Dead universe forward will be of interest to all the fans of the franchise.

But season 2 of TWD: World Beyond is notable for another reason: The entire season is being directed by women, and that is not unintentional. "Equity was a big part of the decision-making," says Negrete of hiring an all-female team to helm its 10 episodes. "I've been in so many departmental and prep meetings that were either comprised of all men, or where the men greatly outnumbered the women, so ultimately, my decision just felt right on a number of levels."

Below is a list of all the second-season episode numbers, their titles, and the directors behind them:

Episode 201: "Konsekans" — directed by Loren Yaconelli
Episode 202: "Foothold" — directed by Loren Yaconelli
Episode 203: "Exit Wounds" — directed By Aisha Tyler
Episode 204: "Family Is a Four-Letter Word" — directed By Aisha Tyler
Episode 205: "Quartervois" — directed by Heather Cappiello
Episode 206: "Who Are You?" — directed by Heather Cappiello
Episode 207: "Blood and Lies" — directed by Lily Mariye
Episode 208: "Returning Point" — directed by Lily Mariye
Episode 209: "Death and the Dead" — directed by Loren Yaconelli
Episode 210: "The Last Light" — directed by Loren Yaconelli

We spoke to Negrette about his choice, how the cast and crew reacted, and the overall direction of season 2.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: When you set out to film season 2, did you make a conscious decision to hire only women directors, and if so, why?

MATT NEGRETE: While my overall goal was to bring in a slate of talented directors with differing voices and backgrounds that reflected the diversity of the cast, I'll say that equity was a big part of the decision-making. For season 1, I'd wanted to fill half of the directing slots with women, but unfortunately, due to some shifting production dates, we ended up coming up just short of that. So for season 2, I met with a lot of directors — men and women, from differing backgrounds and with varying levels of experience — with the goal of doing better. And when all was said and done, the directors I clicked best with were women.

Loren Yaconelli had directed the eighth episode of season 1 and really knocked it out of the park, so I jumped at the chance to bring her on as our season 2 producing director. Aisha Tyler had just finished directing a Fear the Walking Dead episode, and had this intense appreciation and respect for The Walking Dead universe. Heather Cappiello had also just shot an episode of Fear and brought an incredible passion to our meeting. And Lily Mariye had directed plenty of drama, action, and horror, and — like Aisha — had an acting background, which I always consider a plus.

Over the years, I've been in so many departmental and prep meetings that were either comprised of all men, or where the men greatly outnumbered the women, so ultimately, my decision just felt right on a number of levels. And, in the end, I think all of these talented directors brought a unique part of themselves to their episodes to great success.

Did you tell the cast this was happening, and if not, did anyone ever notice or say anything about all the directors on season 2 being women?

Once the directors were locked in, I sent the cast an email letting them know who we'd booked, and they were all really excited about the lineup. And as the season went on, I also heard from some of the crew who expressed to me how this slate of all-women directors was meaningful for them, how proud they felt to be part of a project with so many other women in key roles — not just as directors, but producers, first assistant director, art director, set decorator, and more.

I have to say, it means a lot to hear so many others express what this means to them. It's really reinforced for me the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion not just in the film industry, but in every line of work.

When hiring a director, how much do you look for people who have already worked in the Walking Dead universe — like Aisha Tyler, who directed an episode of Fear the Walking Dead?

Because World Beyond is a new show set in an existing universe with existing rules, having directors with knowledge of those rules (and how to execute them on screen) definitely gives everyone an extra layer of comfort and reassurance on set. The hardcore Walking Dead fans have immersed themselves in our post-apocalyptic world for over a decade now, and they've developed an extremely critical eye, so if the smallest detail on set isn't exactly right or a character's reaction to something doesn't ring true, it can completely break the illusion of the world. So yeah, experience in the universe, while not at all critical, is definitely a plus.

What can you say generally about the direction in season 2?

I'll say that the direction of season 2 feels more mature and psychologically complex by design. Our characters have been through a lot. They've had to grow up fast and make some very hard decisions. To that end, it was important that the look of the show reflect that growing maturity, and thanks to our amazing directors and incredible (and incredibly hardworking) crew on the ground in Richmond, I think we pulled it off.

World Beyond....that shit is horrible. Watching it only because how it's supposed to link the TWD and FTWD up, etc. ....but the kids aren't believable characters and the people that raised the were stupid as hell.

Even living in a relatively safe area, how the fuck are you gonna raise your kids to be totally unprepared when there's still a zombie infested world outside your compound? Judith Grimes would take that group of kids and be their leader in about 3 hours.

.. and I think they finally have the smaller boy not wearing his corduroy leisure suit this season

Can't remember if big boy lived or not (shit isn't memorable) but he picked the worst possible weapon....a huge 40 pound wrench. :smh: worst weapon since the 7 foot gut in "Troy" had a fucking ten foot long hammer.

Jadis is part of the Circle Republic! She debuts at the end of the trailer.

They starting to bring all three shows together for the Rick Grimes movies.

Definitely looking forward to this.

I watched episodes 3 to 5 the other night.

Season is a slow burn, but we got some insight on what the Civic Republic is up to with their experiments on Walkers.

Jadis made her debut at the end of Episode 5 and looks to be the major villain going out until the series finale.

And with how Rick was taken by the Civic Republic with Jadis help, it’s looking like this series will be setting things up for the Rick Grimes movies.

If you plan on watching those movies, some of the characters from this series who survive and “Fear of the Walking Dead” will definitely be in it, you will be somewhat lost on who they are and how they connect to everything.

There will be only 10 episodes for season 2 leading into the series finale.

I guess I'm going to have to catch up on "WORLD BEYOND" now.
Because I absolutely LOVED Pollyanna MacIntosh/Jadis in the original "TWD" series.
