Update On The Highspots Lawsuit Against Ric Flair
Posted by Larry Csonka on 09.08.2010

They have a court date…

According to Pwinsider.com, here is the latest in regards to the lawsuit filed against Ric Flair by Highspots. Both sides are scheduled to begin depositions shortly, and a court date has been scheduled for April18th, 2011. The suit was filed by Highspots due to their claim that Ric Flair owes them $35,000. Highspots claims that Flair gave them the original National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight championship as collateral for the loan. Highspots tried to auction off the belt a while back, but they then learned that Combraco, Inc., already held a lien on the property for money Flair owes them.

Highspots claims that they lent Flair $31,000 and $35,000 on different instances, while Flair's attorneys only acknowledge the $35,000 wire transfer. In regards to the NWA
title, the attorney says that Flair didn't pledge the belt to Highspots as collateral. Flair claims that the belt was brought to the autograph sessions and that Highspots took possession and "refused to return it." Flair spoke to police n regards to getting the belt back, but when Charlotte police went to Highspots to get the belt, they left after being shown the paperwork regarding the issue.

Flair's filing asks that all claims from Highspots be denied, that the court rule that any debt to the company has been satisfied, that the NWA World championship belt be returned to his possession and that Highspots be forced to pay the court costs.

On a related note, Ring of Honor still has a suit pending against Flair. This suit is over breach of contract and money owed back to the promotion when Flair quit as the ROH Ambassador. Flair pulled out of scheduled appearances that he was paid in advance for.

Flair has been on a tear of screwing over people he could be making money with: Greg Price from the NWA Legends Fanfest, ROH, and Highspots.

and WTF is goin on with Ric Flair?.. are ANY of the big names from the old days doing well financially?

Tito Santana is doing very well, as is Magnum TA. Those were the first guys I could think of that are doing well outside the business. Dusty and Lawler are doing great working indies at their leisure and working for Vince.
Sting could retire but why leave TNA's money in their pocket. Same with Nash.

Ted Dibase Sr. I mean come on, he was on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous!!!

:lol::lol:
That was some amazing shit. A real show pushing a wrestling gimmick. Next CNN will be covering the Presidential campaign of Mr. Bob Backlund or examining the royal lineage of Jerry "The King" Lawler.

As a kid I was wondering, is this for real???

After that, I was probably the only kid who was a loyal Million Dollar Man fan.

Ted was also screwed over by Vince by not getting the title....

Ted was supposed to get the NWA title in 81 but he was the runner up to Flair when the Board voted.

Then he was screwed by Vince because Vince felt he owed Savage because HonkyTonk Man wouldn't drop the IC belt to him.

Ted never did get a world title run.

And his son is about to catch the failroad train as well.

I thought he was gonna be a main eventer....but now...I don't know.

I read a rumor saying that his younger brother is going to join and they're going to create a stable called "The fortunate sons."

When Ted kicked that basketball away from that kid, I was threw with him. I was :angry::angry: at him and even more at Virgil. How is he going to stand there and let Ted do that to that Black kid?
I just learned it was all set up but it still touches me to this day.

WWE News: NFL star to host Monday's Raw
Sep 9, 2010 - 04:01 PM

WWE has updated their guest star page to note that Chad Ochocinco will host the September 13 edition of WWE Raw. The show takes place in Cincinnati, Oh.

Powell's POV: WWE updated this info after we posted our previous story. Nice coup for WWE to get Ocho on Monday night. Although NFL fans will watch the doubleheader on ESPN on Monday, this might get many of them to flip channels to see him on Raw. Thanks to all the readers who passed along the update.

This is gonna be interesting:yes:

This is gonna be interesting:yes:

I didn't even realize they were still doing the guest host angle.

Chad will probably be on for 3-4 minutes, probably talk to R-Truth or some mid-carder backstage, dismiss Santino or a heel, promote his show and walk off with the Bella twins, jokingly asks them to be on the next season of his show. :dunno:

If I'm right, I'm sending them a job application to join the writing staff.

You forgot his Falcon's Arrow (when he puts them in a back suplex and spin them into a powerbomb) and his horrible STF. So we'll say he has 4 and a half moves.

No, make it a solid 5 and a half.
He does do a fame-asser from the top rope occasionally. Dude still sucks but he does have more than 3 moves:D.

WWE mgmt doesn't give a damn about those chants. He stills sells t-shirts and they won't have DX, Taker, or Rey around to sell merch for too much longer.
Now if Randy Orton really takes off as a face, that would do more to change him than fan's chanting.

You forgot about his fisherman buster!

Cena is the only guy that in memory that they refused to turn due to fan reaction. If you go back everybody got turned after the fans decided to cheer or boo them ( Rock, Austin, Edge, Bret Hart, Jericho, Brock, Hogan, Orton, etc ). Like I said a few pages back, Cena must be doing Austin & Hogan numbers in the merchandise department.

Yep, they make him a new shirt for him every couple of months, like he got the purple shit now, when he's been sporting the orange for the last few months.

Thing is though they don't have anyone as big as Cena right now. When they made Stone Cold a heel they still had Rock. I don't see anyone who could bring in the same sales for them as Cena would. And those Cena fans are so fickle. Probably would boycott wrestling in general if they turned Cena heel. I think they'd see a ratings boost honestly though.

I did forget he uses that move. Look at Johnny Boy, he's a fucking technician and we didn't know it:lol:.

If Orton can sell merch like Cena as a babyface, they'll turn Cena. They might want a second top merch selling babyface with Orton being as fragile as he can be. Say what you will about Cena but he's durable.

Daniel Bryan can be that babyface.

Skill wise, he's 100x better than Cena. Let him beat Cena week after week until they meet for a final time at a PPV in which Cena finally goes heel.

I like Bryan and have for years but he's small and his promo work lately hasn't been very good. Vince likes "superhumans" with mediocre skills over great wrestlers over 6' (Jericho is 0-1000 against Cena). WWE doesn't have a history of pushing too many smaller guys to the top.
Now if another steroid controversy breaks out, expect him to be the main beneficiary like Bret, Shawn, and CM Punk before him.

Nah. Cody's been a gimmick that he's making work and his ring and promo work has been really good. He's already leapfrogged "the Chosen One" Drew McIntyre. He'll be IC champ before the Royal Rumble and maybe Survivor Series.

Ted Dibiase's stock is so low he's brought down Maryse. He's in a comedy spot and isn't even presented as a contender for the US title.

I don't see Orton selling merchandise as the sadictic tweener that he is now. Orto's main pops came from the RKO and his legend killer pose. They may have to make him more kid friendly or let him start going on a RKO everyone I see rampage. When ever Cena soes turn heel they're make him battle rap & diss everyone including the crowd. Only making people cheer him again.:smh:

I agree on Orton and you'll notice he hit like a dozen RKOs Monday night.

"Rapping" Cena is done. He'll just be a typical arrogant heel. I figure he'll get one good week of promos and then he'll be cracking lame jokes on faces like he does heels.

The WWE would probably be more interesting if they let the heels get more heat than they do. They can't even beat the babyfaces when they're injured. HHH was the last heel to get real heat like that and because of their relationship, Sheamus is allowed to get some.
Say what you will about some TNA booking but Fourtune has been kicking the shit out of everybody with an occasional losses and not the other way around.

I'm taking back my vote. I just caught Vicki in some tights and she did have something nice going on on the back end.
She still ain't cute but her recent weight loss is showing some good results.
